Y/l/n - your last name

Today, you weren't having the best day. In fact, it was probably one of the worst days you ever had.

To begin with, you were late to school, which is a great way to start your day when your teacher is one of the strictest teachers in your school. Then, you failed your history test. First 'F' you got on a test. Ever. Then, finally, you made the dumb mistake of spending your free period on the bleachers, where the lacrosse players were practicing. You couldn't pinpoint who did it, but one of the lacrosse players accidentally, or purposely, wailed the ball right at your face. This was followed by Coach yelling, "Stilinski! Take y/l/n to the nurse!"

Just the greatest day ever. And it's days like these that make you decide to do the one thing you love doing: roller skating. You just absolutely love the feeling of your feet gliding on the wood floor, almost like you're soaring through the air as your feet move faster each step you take on the skates.

So, that's what you're currently doing as you skate around the rink, feeling the beat of the music playing throughout the place. You absolutely loved it, and you never wanted it to end.

About 45 minutes later, the music stops and everyone there hears the announcer come on to say something.

"Our first game will be for couples only," they announced. "Again, our first game will be for couples only."

Great. The one game I can't play.

With that, you sigh deeply and head out of the rink to the area where the benches are. After taking a seat for a couple of minutes, you see someone come up to you.

Stiles.

"May I have this skate?" he said as he offered his hand to you.

You smile softly before responding. "Yes, you may."

You grab his hand and you both made your way back towards the rink. As you both start skating hand-in-hand, you decided to ask Stiles a question.

"So, what brings you to the skating rink?"

"I am currently fifth-wheeling with Lydia, Aiden, Scott, and Allison," Stiles answered.

"That's gotta suck."
"You said it."

You both softly chuckle at this.

"What brings you here?" he asked afterwards.

"Shitty day."

Stiles hesitated before saying, "Yeahh.. sorry about that."

You look at him confused. "About what?"

"I was the one you hit you in the face with the ball earlier today."

"Ohh."

There was a silence between you two as you guys continued skating and holding each other's hands.

"Do you want to get something to eat here?" Stiles asked, breaking the silence. "I'll pay. It's the least I can do after being the one to be the cause of the bruise around your eye."

You thought about it for a moment.

"Sure."

So, you both made your way out of the rink to order some food and drinks. After ordering, you both sat down to eat and started to talk amongst each other about whatever you could. Seconds turned to minutes, minutes turned to hours as you guys were talking, skating, laughing, and just having the time of your lives.

Meanwhile, Scott and the others were watching you two from afar.

"I haven't seen Stiles this happy in awhile," Scott comments to the others.

"Maybe y/n's the one," Lydia chimes in with. "I mean, I think they'll make a cute couple."

All of them continued watching you guys having the best time ever.

"We should join them," Allison suggested.

The others agreed with her and started skating their way over to where you and Stiles were. After awhile, all six of you were enjoying your time together.

*closing time*

You all managed to stay until they closed, and all of you were beat and tired.

After putting your shoes back on and handing back the skates to the person behind the counter, you all made your way out the door.

"Hey, Stiles?" you say as you both walk next to each other.

"Yeah?"
"Thank you for tonight. It really means a lot."
"Of course," he says with a smile.

Silence floods in between the two of you.

"Ya know," you started to say as you stopped walking and turned to face Stiles, "this black eye wasn't the entire reason this day was shitty."

"Oh really?" he questions curiously. "How come?"

"Well," you pause. "I was late to school and I failed my first ever test today," you say as a matter-of-fact.

"Being late isn't all that bad, though," Stiles said.

"It is when you have a strict teacher that period and you ended up getting a full lecture in front of the entire class because of it."

Stiles couldn't think of anything else to say other than, "Oh."

Silence fills the air once again as you guys continued walking to your car.

"Hey, do you want to do something like this again sometime?" Stiles asks as you reach your car. "I was thinking we'd go see a movie, and then get something to eat afterwards."

You didn't even have to second guess your response. "Sure. It's a date."

Maybe this day wasn't so bad after all.
