"You can sit beside Jonathan over there."
Everyone stared as Axel walked over to the seat next to me. He glanced at me and winked.
"Hey, Nate! Fancy meeting you here." He whispered. I nodded. Axel sat down and the teacher started the lecture. We had no external classes today so everyone was supposed to stay in class until lunchtime.
When the first class had ended we had some time to talk. Axel had been looking at me since the class started, so I looked over at him when it ended.
What? I wrote.
"Just admiring your serious face." He grinned.
What the heck?
Finn came over to me and glared at Axel. He put his hand on my desk and leaned over.
"Who the hell's that?" He whispered into my ear. I was startled. It made me flustered about how close he was, but I ignored it. As I was trying to write a response, I could feel Axel's gaze on me.
I looked over at him out of curiosity. The look on his face was weird. It looked like he was... Jealous? I turned away immediately and quickly wrote down my response.
He's the guy I told you about. I wrote.
Finn frowned. He walked over to Axel's table and put out his hand aggressively. He then forced a smile. He was actlly weird to a guy he just met.
"Hi there," he greeted. His smile was twitching into a frown.
Axel looked at me and looked back at Finn. He then looked back at me.
"Your friend?" He asked, ignoring Finn's greeting. I nodded. He looked back at Finn and returned Finn's handshake.
"A friend of Nate is a friend of mine."
"Nate?" I avoided Finn's stare. "Are you ok with this Nathan?"
I have no problem with it. I wrote.
Finn sighed and returned back to me. He sat on the chair in front of me and turned his body to look at my face. He was pouting. I'd seen it so many times, but was it because I was conscious of him now?
Pretty...
Axel tapped my shoulder. When I turned to him he was also pouting.
Wait, what's going on?
When I looked at Finn, he was glaring at Axel who was also glaring at him. I got up from my sit and the teacher stepped into the class, so I sat back down.
Great timing.
Finn groaned and returned back to his seat. Axel smiled as he left. When he had gone, Alex tugged at my sleeve. I turned to him. His was on the table and he was looking at m. His bangs covering his eyes and moving slightly as he talked.
"Does Finn know why you don't talk?" He asked. Axel looked like he was hoping for something, but also didn't want to hear the response.
I've only told you. I wrote.
He seemed happy?
"Wait, what about your parents?" He asked once more.
It took me a while to accept that It was my best friend's fault so, yeah. I wrote.
"Oh." Axel looked away for a bit before looking back at me.
"Thanks for trusting me." He smiled. My heart skipped a beat.
From calling my voice beautiful, to this? Also why is this affecting me? What was I supposed to do?
Axel started laughing quietly. "Your blushing." He whispered.
