His Nerd.

Chapter 10

It was the weekend already. The week went by in a flash. Axel and I grew more fond of each other while Finn and I remained the same. I hope he finds someone else that he'll like. 

About Caleb though, the abuse had stopped at least and I did get to know a few things about him, like the birthmark under his foot, the fact that he's afraid of bugs, and some other stuff.

I got up and looked at the time. 7:00 am. I invited Axel, Finn, and Caleb for a movie at my house, although I didn't tell Finn and Axel that Caleb was invited.  Caleb doesn't know that the others are coming either.

I pushed my hair back and walked to the bathroom where I washed up. After about twenty minutes, I was downstairs having breakfast with my mom.

"So, when are your friends coming?" She asked before taking a sip of her coffee.

"Twelve?"

"Say hi to them for me."

"Where are you going?"

" Somewhere." she winked.

My mom took her plate and her mug to the sink and washed them before going upstairs. I still sat on my chair. Eating my bacon and eggs while wondering.

Mom's been going out more often.

She rushed downstairs wearing a dinner gown when it was eight in the morning. She kissed me on the cheek and wished me a good day before going out the door.

I could hear my mom talking with someone and they sounded friendly, so it wasn't a neighbor. I pulled my chair back and stretched my head to see who it was.

"Sorry Caleb, but I'm in a rush. I'm sure you'll come another time, so see you then."

Caleb?

I put my chair back and stood up. Caleb shut the door and walked in after putting his shoes away.

"Hey." He called.

"Sup." 

The running sound of the faucet filled up the silence as I washed the plates and put them on the drying rack. I switched it off and turned to Caleb who was sitting comfortably on the couch. He seems to have lost his shyness.

I sat on the same couch and tilted my body to face him.

"You came pretty early." I told him.

"There'll be no point in waiting at home." he answered straight away.

"I didn't tell you last time but, I also invited Finn and Axel..."

Caleb said nothing.

"I- I'm sorry, I guess I should h-have told you." I stammered. It came back again.

"Don't apologize. I knew anyway."

"Ok then."

I turned away from him and faced forward. Thinking about nothing. Mind blank from the silence. I didn't notice when the clock struck eleven. The doorbell rang.

I got up and walked towards the door happy that someone had disrupted the silence. I opened the door and beamed at the visitor. They smiled back at me and kissed me on the forehead.  

Axel entered and looked shocked when he saw Caleb. I mean, it was expected. He pointed to him and looked at me.

"You know him?" Axel asked. Caleb rolled his eyes and scoffed.

"Yeah..."

"I mean, I know that you guys talked, but I didn't know you were this close." he explained.
