So much time had passed in the blink of an eye.
Ever since our last fight, nothing happened, and it was pretty peaceful. Before we knew it, we had graduated from grade 10, and it was time for our summer break.
I was lying on my bed while holding my phone to my face.
"You know, it's been a while since we've fought." Axel grinned.
"You w-want us to f-fight?" I asked, stammering a bit in the process, though I thought I completely got rid of it.
"No, of course not." He said frantically.
"So?"
"I mean, I miss the times when we'd make up... you know?"
It took me a while to figure out what he was referring to, as it just so happened to be that when we did, something else followed.
I felt a bit embarrassed and looked away towards the window as Axel chuckled.
"Actually," he started. 'I like how my parents don't bother me about that thing again."
"You haven't told them?" I asked.
Axel remained quiet, and I sighed.
"Hey, it's not that easy-"
"I know, don't worry. No pressure." I sighed once more, but quietly.
My heart ached a bit. I mean, I didn't want to pressure Axel into telling his parents about us, but I didn't know if he was making the effort.
At least I hadn't heard much about Bella, and I hadn't seen her much either, but I just didn't want any issues like last time to happen.
Just then, my mom called for me from downstairs.
"Nathan, It's time to go!" she shouted.
"I'll be down in a minute," I responded.
"Got somewhere to be?" Axel asked from the phone, watching as I got up and put my shirt back on, along with my ring and a necklace he gave me.
"Yeah, my mom's taking me out."
"How nice..."
"Yeah, I'll text you. Bye!"
"Have a good day, Modi."
The call ended.
...
We arrived at the amusement park, and we got down to get our tickets at the ticket booth.
I spotted someone who looked familiar, and they spotted me too.
"Nate!" They shouted as they walked towards me.
"Caleb? Never thought I'd feel this happy to see a familiar face."
Caleb waited for my mom to get the tickets before greeting her.
"Hello, Ms. Beth."
'Hey, Caleb! It's so nice to see you!"
My mom smiled, then looked at us both, then seemed worried.
"I hope I'm not disrupting anything..."
"Oh, no-"
"Of course not. Mom, I have a boyfriend, remember?"
"Ah, silly me. Either way, the both of you should go have fun, I'll be looking at the booths and getting snacks."
"Okay."
Caleb and I explored the amusement parks and talked on the way to each one.
He told me that his family was paying less attention to him, and when I looked sad, he nudged my shoulder with his elbow and told me he liked it the way it was, and that I shouldn't feel bad.
