It had been a quiet day, for Cooronolia at least. The streets were like a hive of bees, never stopping, never staying put in one place for too long. The stone roads were the homes to many street vendors and merchants. A person would be told they were getting the best deal for the same item at three different vendors at three different prices. The sun had been hidden behind the clouds, which allowed for cool sunshine to bless the tired souls of the town Alydenne. It was located five towns away from the capital, Mycaen.
Alydenne looked like the architects of the city ran out of space so they just crammed the city on top of itself, leading to odd placed stairways and unique buildings. Within one of these buildings was Jared and Calvin.
"Quit squirming!" Calvin commanded Jared.
"Not my fault this tickles," Jared laughed.
"There, done," Calvin sat down on the bed and took a good long look at his masterpiece. Jared was now a complete blond, no hint of his Trajarean heritage in sight.
"Who would've thought Trajareans weren't liked around these parts eh?" Calvin chuckled at the odd spectacle that was now Jared.
"Everywhere else we've been people didn't care what the hell we were," Jared sighed as he sat on the other bed. "Will my hair ever go back to its original color?"
"No clue. Hell, I wasn't even sure if the spell would work," Calvin said. "First time I've done something like this."
"You were the one who found it!" Jared exclaimed.
"Yeah but the book was so old," Calvin explained. "A lot of the spells were outdated."
"There aren't any side effects then?" Jared ran over to the mirror and thoroughly checked his scalp."
"I hope there are! Do you know how funny that would be?" Calvin smiled. "Imagine going back to your sister being bald?"
"Not cool, and who do you think she's going to take it out on anyway? Certainly not I," Jared grinned at the thought of Mari chasing Calvin around.
"Hey, hey, hey, she can't touch all this," Calvin gestured to himself. "I'm too good."
"Whatever," Jared rolled his eyes. "We should get going if we want to sign up for that tournament." Jared grabbed his shirt and slipped it on.
"You really think this'll lead us closer to that combat training thing?" Calvin tossed Jared his knapsack, where his Book was in.
"Even if it doesn't, it's a great chance to fight trained and street fighters," Jared shrugged. He held the door for his friend and they both walked out.
Alydenne's tournament was well known in the Pthyra region of Cooronolia. Cooronolia did not have a nationwide military so the country was broken up into different regions, each with their own militia. However, the regions are always united so should one region become under attack, it's taken as an attack against all of the regions of Cooronolia. The capital of Mycaen acted as its own region and resided as the absolute authority over all over regions. Regions only come into play when it comes to military involvement. Everything else is under the name of Cooronolia.
