Unexpected love - Mattheo Riddle

"What the fuck" I mumble as I sit up, where am I?
I look around at the white walls, and there are some people standing in the room.
A muggle hospital.

"Can you tell me your full name?" A nurse asks as she walks in
"Why?" I respond
"To check if you don't have any brain injuries." She answers
"Evelyn Moreau" I tell her "where am I?"
"You're in St Thomas hospital in London." She answers "a doctor will come check on you in a few minutes." She says as she opens the door.
"Who brought me here?" I ask
"Mr Riddle and Mr Malfoy." She answers
Why would they bring me to muggle world? It's weird isn't it?
"Can you bring them in?" I ask
"Sure." She says and she walks out.

After a minute or two my brother and best friend walk in.
"Are you alright love?" Mattheo asks
"I'm fine, why'd you bring me here?" I ask them
"Hogwarts wasn't safe and they have to rebuild most parts, we didn't have a choice." Draco says as he sits down on the edge of the bed.
"How long have I been here?" I question
"You have been in a medically induced coma for almost a week, if we didn't keep you in a coma you would've died." A doctor says as he walks in.
"I have to look at the wound on your stomach." The doctor says as he looks on his paper and then at me.
"Can they stay?" I ask
"If you are more comfortable that way, yes they can." The doctor says to my relief.
Mattheo walks up to me and he takes my hand as the doctor looks at the wound underneath my bellybutton.
"How does it look?" I ask
"It doesn't look bad, we can remove the stitches tomorrow if you'll be careful." He says
"So I can go home then?" I asks
"Yes you can but you can not be alone in the next few days." He answers as he lays his papers down on the table next to me.
"We will stay with her." Draco says
"I need you and your legal guardian to sign these papers."
"My parents are dead." I tell the doctor as I look him dead in the eye.
"Alright, sign the papers and we will dismiss you tomorrow morning." He says and he leaves the room.
"What a dick." I say as I sit right up, my head is pounding and my stomach hurts like a bitch.
"Pansy" I mumble
"She's good, she lives with her brother now until Hogwarts is restored."
A long silence falls, I think I will never be able to talk about this again.
I only remember people dying.
"Fred and George?" I ask "how are they?" My mind thinking the worst thing possible.
"Fred didn't make it." Draco says
"What happened?" I ask with tears in my eyes, mourning one of my best friends.
"An explosion on the seventh floor corridor, he was defending it with Percy." Mattheo says.
"You were there." I say as I look at him, tears rolling down my cheek, he didn't kill Fred right?
"I was." He answers
"Leave please." I mumble "I can't see or talk to you right now." I tell him
"Let me explain" Mattheo says
"She said leave." Draco responds as he opens the door.
"How is Narcissa?" I ask, I've never hated her, she took good care of me while I was living at the manor.
"I don't know, she doesn't want to talk to me anymore." My half brother says.
"I'm sure it will be alright, everyone needs time." I say as I try to sit righter up but it hurts.
"Where will we be staying? Your dad knows about my house here and I don't think Mattheo likes muggle world." I say
"Mattheo bought a apartment."
"Where?" I ask
"By the coast." Draco answers

"Will we be alright?" I ask
"I promise you, we will." He answers

After a short silence Mattheo storms into the room "He's here." He says
"Who?" I ask before Draco helps me out of the bed.
"Father, he wants to kill you and if he sees me here I'm probably dead too." Draco answers as he and Mattheo help me get up and out of the room.
"I can fight him." I say
"Not right now." Draco says
"It's too dangerous." Mattheo adds
"Why don't you kill him like you did to Fred?" I ask Riddle
He doesn't respond to that as we walk out of the hospital doors and get into a car, I have no idea who's car it is.
"Do you know how to drive?" I ask as they put me in the back
"No I don't, do you?" Draco asks in response
"I do but I don't think it's a really good idea to let me drive." I say
"We could just apparate." Mattheo says
"You're telling me I walked through that whole hospital when we could've just apparated!" I shout as I grab his arm
"For Merlin's sake." Draco mumbles before we leave the hospital.

We apparate to what I assume is the apartment Mattheo bought.
"Where's the bathroom?" I ask as I look around "I want to shower." I add to clarify.
"You can't be alone." Riddle says
"Well I have to fucking shower don't I?" I ask pissed at my friend who killed one of my best friends.
"Look Mattheo, I appreciate that you act like you care but you promised me to protect the people I care about and you did the opposite." I tell him as I walk closer to him.
"I do care." He replies
"Well than you should've kept your promises." I say as I walk off.
"Evelyn!" I hear Draco's voice as I enter the hallway "I found the bathroom!" He shouts.
"I'm coming!" I say as I stumble through the hallway in pain towards the bathroom.

"Draco?" I ask as I enter the bathroom and I see the shower running already.
"Is there something wrong?" He asks
"No, nevermind." I say as I look at the door signing that he should leave.
"I'll be on the other side of the door if something happens." He says
"Thank you, for everything." I say with a smile as he walks out of the bathroom and he closes the door.
"Oh Draco?" I ask
"Yes?"
"Could you get me some clothes?" I ask
"I'll ask Mattheo if he has anything, I didn't have time to bring anything with me." Draco says and I hear him walk away from the door.

I start to take of the thing they put on me while I was in the hospital and I look down at my wound.
Memories flash through my mind.

The battle of Hogwarts,
All the blood that was spilled,
All the people that got hurt or died,
Their families,
Fred,
The entire Weasley family and especially George.

My knees feel weak and my entire body is shaking, I try to tell myself to calm down but how could I?
What if anyone else I care about died? Or got hurt? I could have saved more people.
All of a sudden I feel a lot of pain in my stomach again as I lean on the vanity breathing heavily.
"Evelyn?" I hear as I look at the door, Mattheo is standing there staring at me.
"Theo I- I
"I know love, come on." He says as he comes closer and he lifts me up and sits me down on the vanity, that's when we both notice my stomach is bleeding again.

"Fuck." Mattheo mumbles as he gets his wand out of his pocket, trying to heal my wound. It doesn't work and he gets frustrated after a few tries.
"I didn't do it." Mattheo says
"I don't care, he's dead we can't change that." I say as Mattheo gets closer.
"You aren't okay are you?" He asks
"I will be, eventually." I answer

He stands in between my legs and he takes my hand.
"I know you will." He says as he comes closer and he leans in to kiss me.
I kiss him back gently, trying to push him away after a short kiss.
"I'm sorry." He says and he walks away
"Mattheo I need your help." I shout, he comes back immediately and he helps me off the vanity.
I am out of breath after a few seconds of walking and my entire body is just tired as fuck.
"I will carry you to the bed." Mattheo says as he takes my hand and he gently lifts me up bringing me to a bedroom.
There is a big bed with white sheets and a window overlooking the ocean.
"Wait, I will stain the bed." I say before Mattheo puts me down.
"I will buy new sheets." He says "don't worry my girl." He says with a smile as he puts me down and he tucks me in.

"Thank you." I say with a smile, he sits down next to me and looks at his hands.
"I'm sorry," He says "I didn't kill Fred."
"Let's talk about this later, will you just lay here with me?" I ask.
"I have to get some groceries and stuff-
"That can wait." I say, he agrees and lays down.

"Also, don't apologize for kissing me ever again." I say before closing my eyes and drifting away into a deep very needed sleep.
