Unexpected love - Mattheo Riddle

"Miss Moreau, why are you wearing a Hufflepuff sweater and aren't you in uniform?" McGonagall asks as she walks up to me at the breakfast table.
"Because I slept at Cedric's, I didn't have time to go to my room before breakfast." I tell her after taking a sip of my orange juice.
"Detention, both of you." She says
"No." I tell her
"For an entire week." She adds
"I told you, no."
"Just because you killed Voldemort doesn't mean you shouldn't have to follow the rules." She says
"I will discuss this with Dumbledore later today, I'm not going to detention and neither is Cedric." I tell her, she scoffs before walking away.
"So Cedric huh?" I hear a voice I don't want to hear behind me.
"Keep walking Mattheo." Draco says from across the table.
"It's alright, why don't you join us?" I ask him with a smirk, Draco sees it and knows I'm up to something.
"Pansy do you mind moving a bit so he can sit?" I ask her with a smile.
"Of course not." She answers smiling back at me.

He sits down.
"So, I heard you got a new girlfriend?" I ask him "tell your best friends about her."
"She's not my girlfriend." He answers coldly, I hate this part of him.
"You two looked cozy yesterday." Pansy says "why isn't she?"
"Amortentia." He says "she added it to my drink." He says
"Liar, Amortentia would make you way more obsessed. Besides if she did and you found out she'd be dead already." I say looking at him seriously.
"She is, set her on fire this morning." He admits his crime.
"You did not!" Theodore says laughingly
"I did, she ruined everything I had." He says, I get up from the table
"I'm not hungry anymore." I say before walking away towards the Astronomy tower, so he knows where I am.

After about ten minutes of walking I get to the top of the tower and I sit down.

"We have to talk." Mattheo says as he sits down next to me.
"Don't think I have forgiven you." I say
"I didn't do anything wrong." He answers
"You could have told me as soon as you found out."
"I couldn't, I found out at the party yesterday while you were fucking Cedric." He says, raising his voice.
"I didn't fuck him."
"He said otherwise."
"What did you do to him?" I ask as I grab his hand and look at his red knuckles.
"I beat him up, warned him." Theo says
"Why?" I ask
"Because he doesn't have the right to fuck my girl." He responds

"I'm not your girl anymore." I say after being quiet for a few seconds

"I didn't do anything." He says
"You broke my heart, I almost overdosed." I reply
"You did what?" He asks, looking me straight in my watery eyes.
"You never said it back, you don't love me like I love you Mattheo, I don't want to give one hundred percent when you give me like twenty."

He stays silent

"Why can't you just say it?" I ask
"Because I don't know what it feels like to love someone Evelyn." He answers
"I didn't know that, I'm sorry." I tell him
"It's fine, I think I love you too." He says

I rest my head on his shoulder as a tear falls down my cheek.
"Why are you sad?" He asks
"I should have known." I say
"No, this is not your fault." He says
"I mean that I should have known you don't know what it's like to love someone." I make clear.
"I am sure I love you." He says
"I love you too." I respond.

I look up at him, my eyes meet his and we kiss.
"Finally." I chuckle as we let go.
"Any plans for the day?" Mattheo asks
"Not yet." I tell him
"I'll take you to lunch." He says before taking my hand and apparating to my room.

"Hello lovebirds." Pansy says walking out of the bathroom.
"I'll pick you up at one." He says after kissing my forehead.
He leaves the room and Pansy squeals.
"My favorite couple, how'd it go?" She asks smiling as she sits down on the bed.

"He told me he loves me."
