Unhinged, selfish, slightly psychopathic and in desperate need of a fucking exorcist is what Dom is. I sat up slowly with a groan as Alicio sat on the edge of the bed. I was in the infirmary and I was in desperate need of morphine or something to take the pain away.
"Doctor said you should rest" He spoke softly as his eyes trailed my no doubt messed up face.
"I need something for the pain" I looked around for anything and the room was fairly empty other than the i.v drip beside my bed.
"How did you wake up so soon anyway?" He asked and his voice was so low. I was too drowsy to hear him clearly.
"Huh?" I blinked at him.
"We gave you sedatives, you should be out cold for another six hours...." he stared at me before he reached for my hand. He checked it quickly before placing two fingers against my pulse.
"Adrenaline..." He pushed me to lay back down. "I'll get the doctor." He stood up calmly and I grabbed his arm before he got too far.
"How long was I out?" I asked.
"Three days." Shit. I missed a lot. Alicio stayed looking at me, a weird look in his eyes.
"What?" I became slightly more aware after noticing how uncomfortable he looked.
"Uh, you aren't mad at me?" His fist closed then opened as I gripped his wrist lightly.
"Why would I be mad?" I raised an eyebrow - or at least tried to - at him.
"For putting you in a cell. And I knew Dom was losing his shit. I should've stopped him." Oh. Alicio always had a habit of feeling guilty for things out of his control.
"Wait...is Sage okay? Where is she?" I finally realized she was also supposed to be punished.
Alicio looked away, a deep frown on his lips,
"Alicio." I tugged on his arm and got no response. "Say it how it is man. What happened?"
"Dom cut her off from the mafias. She gets nothing....she has nothing and he told her that he wasn't helping with getting her out of the contract with Vincent who is actually Ivar. However, Dom is onboard with me marrying her. In fact, he's ensuring that I do so she isn't left with nothing. He wants to hurt her without causing permanent damage." He spoke and I nodded trying to keep up.
"The soldiers and staff's loyalty is no longer towards Sage. She is banished until further notice. I have her in one of my homes a few miles from here with full security since someone might target her after hearing what happened." He explained and I sighed.
"Ok well..... any good news?" I hoped and prayed for some.
"Uhhh, I asked Sage on a date. She said no." Alicio mentioned and I closed my eyes remembering the bullshit I put in his head about this. "I gave her flowers and she stared at me and walked off. I gave her a few hours to be alone before I told her when and where our date was. She didn't shout at me, or slam the door in my face. She just said okay."
