Alicio
Present

I walked down the quiet hall and knocked on Sage's door with actual flowers that I bought in my hand. She opened the door shortly after and I sucked in a breath looking down at the red dress I bought her.

I didn't expect her to be compliant enough to wear it but it looks damn good on her.

I stared for a few seconds before I handed her the flowers and lended out my hand to her. She took it quietly as I guided her out to my car, opening the door for her and helping her in. My eyes trailed the high slit in the dress that opened as she sat and I swallowed. As soon as she was inside I closed the door and got in on the driver's side before pulling off.

The ride was fairly quiet other than the music playing at a low volume. The music was sensual and my hands were too damn sweaty to change it.

"Why are you taking me on a date?" Sage suddenly asked.

"Why not?" I answered quickly and I winced. No Alicio, you were supposed to give her the romantic speech you practiced and tell her that you are extremely sorry for what you're about to force her into.

"If this is your idea of playing with me then you should know that I-"

"I like you....a lot." I interrupted her and she was quiet again. I felt her eyes on me and she was quiet again.

"Dominic would-"

"He wants me to marry you." I blurted and she was quiet again.

"I'm not ready for-"

"I'm sorry but you don't really have a choice and I don't want to force you. I don't want to force you into anything and I'm scared you're going to hate me and bring other men home and make the marriage a loveless one because I know how bad I fucked up and I'm sorry but this is the only way to make sure Ivar doesn't marry you and that you can live some kind of happy life and-" I went on and on until she interrupted me.

"Ok" She mumbled.

"Ok?" I looked at her briefly before I turned into the long drive that leads to Xintara's Place.

"Alright, I'll marry you. Especially since I don't actually have a choice." She looked out the window.

"You do though. You can choose to marry my cousin instead." I whispered.

"Do you want me to marry your cousin instead?" She looked back towards me.

"What? No" I answered quickly.

"What makes you better than your cousin?" She questioned and my jaw clenched as I parked in front of the restaurant and turned to her.

"What makes me better is that I won't bring other women home and fuck them infornt of you. I won't be with other women period. What makes me better is that I would give you the world." I started.
