POV: Rhys

Rhys shut the bathroom door behind him and turned on the shower. Stripping, he got in and proceeded to wash his hair. Seren had been acting awkwardly around him ever since he kissed her and he couldn't help but blame himself for everything. She obviously didn't want him the way he wanted her. Part of him wished he hadn't stopped her when she had slid her small hand down to his belt buckle, but he knew she was only trying to exchange the favor.

By the Cauldron, he almost came in his pants when she pinned him up against the tree. The way her body fit against him was pure heaven. Her moans were enough to make him want to drop to his knees and worship her. And the way she had finished with just his thigh and his words was by far the hottest thing anyone had ever done with him. Glancing down, Rhys sighed as he got a look at how hard he was. Fuck, he thought to himself, she doesn't want you.

Well, his body didn't seem to understand that one bit. Rhys lent his forearm on the shower wall and let his other hand trail down until it gripped his hard cock. He fisted himself tightly and imagined it was her mouth instead of his hand. Groaning and breathing heavily, he climaxed.

After a few moments, he cleaned himself off and turned off the shower. Walking out of the bathroom and towel drying his hair, he didn't notice Seren at first. But he looked up after a few seconds of her not saying anything and smiled. She had fallen asleep with all of the lights on. Grinning, he walked over to her side of the bed and turned off her bedside lamp. He allowed himself a moment of weakness and lent over, trailing his knuckles across her cheek. He then got into bed and turned the rest of the lights off.

Rhys had just winnowed Seren and himself to just outside the barriers of Tamlin's estate. He still didn't really know what they were supposed to do here, just be like 'Hi Tam-Tam, just came to check in on you. Amarantha wants to make sure you are going to damn all of Prythian by your laziness. Okay see you in a couple days! So excited to spend the rest of my miserable existence having to look at your ugly face.'

Yeah, he figured something along those lines. Seren, of course, looked beautiful. He had to admit he had never seen her look anything but beautiful. She had chosen a turquoise dress which came halfway down her thighs and had a pretty, ruffled sleeve. It was a good thing his favorite color was turquoise. Okay fine, his favorite color was whatever color she was wearing that day.

As they approached the large doors, he could hear hushed, panicked whispers coming from somewhere inside. He had to admit that he got a kick out of how scared they were of him and his second-in-command. Seren slowly opened the doors and they silently walked in. She pointed to the dining room and he realized they were in there.

Since Rhys couldn't help himself, he sent a strong gust of wind towards the doors and they banged open. Seren shot him a look and he just looked back at her innocently. "Drama queen," she whispered under her breath.

He sent her a glare but she had already started moving toward the room. Lucien was standing by the window and Tamlin was sitting at one end of an extremely long table. Why Tam-Tam needed this long of a table, Rhys didn't know. "Tamlin, Lucien, such a pleasure to see you both again. It has been a while. How's the Spring Court been?" Seren smiled politely.

Rhys casually lent against the doorframe and surveyed the two males. Tamlin cleared his throat and nodded, "Seren, Rhysand."
Rhys clutched his chest dramatically, "49 years and the first time I see you, you call me Rhysand. Only my enemies call me that Tam-Tam. Has it really been that long?"
Seren slowly walked down to the table and swept two fingers across the wood, as if expecting it for dirt, "Amarantha just wanted to know how you two were coming along. And she sent us to remind you of your deadline."

Tamlin narrowed his eyes at her, "Well you can tell her that we have not forgotten our arrangement."

"Good, good," Seren said absentmindedly as she studied the table.

Something seemed to have caught her interest so Rhys looked more closely and realized that the table was set for three, with one plate half finished. Tamlin's eyes widened slightly as Seren tilted her head to one side, "It appears you had a guest. Where did they go?"

"They went to go meet some friends in town," Lucien said quickly.

But Seren didn't appear to be listening to him as she scanned the room before settling her eyes on Lucien. "Move to the side Lucien," she said.

He tried to protest but with a flick of her fingers, he was thrown to the side of the room. With another flick of her fingers a human girl appeared before them all, huddling against the curtains. Seren smiled cruelly, "Who do we have here? Been holding out on us again Tam-Tam?"
Lucien ran up to the human and threw an arm around her, "Seren, Rhysand, this is my fiancee. It is a pleasure to have you all meet."

Rhys laughed, "A human? Wow Lucy, your standards have really dropped lately."

Tamlin growled but otherwise did nothing as Seren approached the girl. Seren tipped the girl's chin up and raised an eyebrow, "Oh I remember you. I'm assuming these were the friends who brought you to Calanmai and left you. Sounds about right."

"Get your hands off her whore!" Tamlin yelled as he started running towards his human.

Before he could get three steps though, Rhys was there. Placing one hand to his chest he snarled, "Don't ever disrespect her like that again. Now. Back. The. Fuck. Up. Simba."

Tamlin was glaring at him but started retreating. Seren walked around him to stand next to Rhys as she smirked, "Kneel."

Tam-Tam slowly lowered himself to his knees before her as she motioned towards Lucien, "You too, fox boy."

As Lucien came to kneel at Seren's feet also, Rhys couldn't help but admire her for a second. Seren was by far, the most amazing female he had ever met. He turned his attention back to the two males in front of them, "Lower."

Lucien dropped his head to the ground as Tamlin shot him a glare. But after a few moments, he also dropped his head. "Good," Seren smiled sweetly, "I'm looking forward to seeing you both Under the Mountain in a couple days then."

Rhys followed her over to the door but before they could leave Seren turned back around, "Oh, I almost forgot. How silly of me. Tell me, girl, what is your name?"

The human looked up and stuttered, "Clare Beddor."

Immediately, Rhys knew she was lying. And he knew Seren knew it also. But to his surprise her only response was, "Thank you my dear. Amarantha will be most pleased to hear that."
