As the days progressed, Seren could feel Feyre fading through the bond. At first, Seren didn't even notice. But a week passed and Seren knew it was Feyre struggling to hold on. So Seren talked to Rhys and got him to agree to letting her take Feyre to the party tonight. She needed something to shake her up a bit. Feyre only had about three weeks left, and Seren was going to do everything in her power to make sure Feyre was alright after those three weeks were up.
She sent Cerridwen and Nuala to fetch Feyre from her cell and bring her to their room. After a lot of deliberating over how to keep Feyre safe and not cause suspicion, Rhys and Seren agreed on putting her in a slightly revealing outfit but painting her whole body. The outfit would calm the suspicions of any fae as to why Feyre was there, because the only reason that would make it acceptable for Seren and Rhys to take her to the party would be if they were using her in some way. But by painting her body, they would know if anybody else touched Feyre and Feyre would know that she hadn't been taken advantage of during the course of the night.
When Feyre arrived in their room, she had a frightened expression on her face. "Hello Feyre," Seren smiled.
"Why am I here?" Feyre asked.
"We are taking you to a party tonight," Rhys said, sounding like the idea bored him.
Nudging him in the side, Seren tried to make up for his rudeness, "We thought you might like something to do since you have been stuck in that cell for over two months. Oh, and we thought you might also like to take a bath."
Feyre still looked annoyed at the fact she had been taken out of her cell but the mention of a bath relaxed the tension in her. Nuala and Cerridwen took her into the bathroom and Seren soon heard the sound of running water. When Seren heard Feyre get into the bath, she walked over to the door and knocked. "Hey Feyre, is it alright if I come in?"
"Yeah sure," came the muffled reply from the other side of the door.
Quickly, Seren walked into the bathroom and shut the door, ensuring that Rhys didn't see anything. Nuala was washing the gunk out of Feyre's hair as Cerridwen rinsed the grime off of her body. "Why are you being so nice to me?" Feyre asked Seren.
"To be honest, I really admire you Feyre. It takes a lot of guts coming here and striking a bargain with the she-devil. And I know you only came here for Tamlin, but if you succeed you will be saving all of us trapped Under the Mountain. Since Tamlin isn't looking out for you at all, I figured I would step up in his place," Seren shrugged.
Feyre seemed to be content with that answer and got out of the bath once the twins had done their job cleaning her off. After she toweled off, Seren took the dress she had brought off of the hanger and handed it to Feyre. It was an extremely pale blue, transparent fabric with a high slit. After looking through her closet, Seren had figured this would be the best dress for Feyre. It looked more scandalous than it actually was, and covered most of the body. Even though Feyre had lost some weight since the time she met her in the Spring Court, Seren was sure the dress would stay in place and there would be no risk in it moving around and exposing Feyre.
Skeptically, she eyed the dress but put it on with no comment. As Feyre was ushered to sit down in the chair in front of the vanity, Seren went behind her and started braiding her hair into a loose crown on top of her head. Cerridwen started on Feyre's makeup while Nuala began painting swirls that replicated their matching tattoo all over Feyre's body.
When they finished, Seren walked Feyre out into their bedroom and told her to wait in there while she got ready quickly. As an afterthought, she brought Rhys along with her. She didn't want to risk him scaring Feyre off while she was getting ready.
She sat in the chair Feyre had occupied moments before and started in on her hair and makeup. Rhys started styling his hair over her shoulder in the mirror also. "I'm starting to really like Feyre. She has so much spirit and drive that it makes her such an interesting person," Seren said to Rhys.
