Tell Me

When Hwanwoong realized he had been wandering for at least an hour, he came back to his senses and he started asking himself what he was actually doing there. The forest was dark and quiet, the beautiful full moon in the sky was the only light source: Hwanwoong had really been enjoying the night, but the sight of that girl with Youngjo had made his stomach twist and venom fill his veins.

He suddenly stopped walking the moment he acknowledged his jealousy: Hwanwoong was envious of that girl who could enjoy the other's company and who received the other's smiles so often, differently from him. He was tired of feeling like that and he hated himself at the same time because he had been doing nothing but running away like a true coward. Youngjo was just one of his seniors, his project fellow, a free person who could have done whatever he wanted and seen whoever he liked.

He couldn't tell when he had started crying but the problem was that he didn't know how to stop. He outstretched one of his arms aside to hold onto the trunk of the nearest tree, his heart was beating frenetically as if he were having a panic attack.

"Hwanwoong."

Hwanwoong's eyes went wide when he heard Youngjo's voice calling his name from behind him. He looked at the ground tightening his grip on the wood under his fingers. He was even starting to hear things now. "Please... Not now." He couldn't help saying as he tried to breathe normally.

"Hwanwoong-ah." Youngjo called again, putting a hand on the other's shoulder. "Are you oka-"

Hwanwoong jerked away from the other's touch and he turned around in utter shock to see the oldest was actually there with him in the forest pointing the torch of his phone at him with a worried face.

"You're crying." The oldest said, making a step back not to be rejected by the other again.

The other's voice was shaking: "W-Why are you here, hyung?"

"Why did you leave to come here alone?" Youngjo's voice sounded somehow stressed.

"I-I said... Why are you here?" The youngest repeated a bit louder as anxiety and fear were slowly taking over his body.

"What do you mean why? Because this is a dangerous place now and I wanted to make sure you-"

"You shouldn't have!!" Hwanwoong spit out finally turning his head to look at the other. "You should go back to your girlfriend and you shouldn't think about me."

Youngjo gave the other a confused look: "My- What? What are you talking about? I don't have a girlfriend, Hwanwoong-ah."

The other's words were the last straw for Hwanwoong before all the poison he had been holding for days overflowed like a river during a rainstorm. He laughed bitterly: "Please, do you think I'm stupid!? Who was the girl with the dog then? I even saw you last week when you came with her in your red convertible Ferrari at campus-"

"Hwanwoong-ah, that's my sister!!" Youngjo interrupted him, raising his voice too. "I even told you about Sun, our dog, remember? I just let her drive my car the other day and she's here on vacation with her husband! I was so surprised to see her because I had no idea they were in Jeju too!"

Hwanwoong's heart sank and he stopped breathing when he understood the other was most probably telling him the truth: "Y-Your... Sister?" He repeated, stumbling back out of embarrassment because he had just made a scene in front of the other. He felt so stupid for not remembering that simple but important information and for forgetting about their Pomeranian family dog who could have at least rung a bell in his brain instead of making him lose it.

Youngjo's heart skipped a beat when he realized what the other's words might had been implying and his brain suddenly started working like spinning wheel, remembering more details about the other's behavior of the past few days. "Was this the reason you left that day during practice as well?"
