[The m!reader is a human]
{Requested by Finneganlotus}

It was getting dark.

You decided to walk back home to enjoy some peace and quiet while you were at it.

You had always loved peaceful areas and considering the fact that the city was always the quite opposite it bothered you.

You ended up hearing from Mk about a monkey village that's not occupied by humans as much so he ended up dropping you off.

You even brought your ukulele too. Yes you had an instrument of your own, it was fun to you. You loved music and you took it as a passion to play.

A peaceful spot with a ukulele. It was perfect. You were definitely gonna show up here more often. Not to mention the monkeys that inhabited it were so adorable to observe, how could you not.

As you were walking you ended up hearing whimpering near the trees nearby to the view of the city.

You were curious but also worried at the same time as to what was wrong. So you decided to check and when you did you ended up finding something unbelievable.

A little baby monkey with its leg stuck under some rocks. It looked like it had wounds on its body even towards its face.

You carefully walked over, you wanted to help it so badly and once it noticed you, it started to freak out.

"Hey...it's okay." You spoke softly as you kneeled down. "Shh...I'm not gonna hurt you."

It looked at you with fear so you decided to bring your hand down towards its face, trying to show it you're not a threat. It eventually did calm down as it leaned into your hand.

"See? I'm not gonna hurt you." You smiled softly, petting its ears. "Let's get you out of this mess."

You pulled some rocks out of the way and pulled the little monkey towards your lap. It was whimpering in pain and it didn't look like it could walk properly on its own.

"I can't believe I'm doing this." You sighed. "Little bud, I'm gonna have to take you to my place to patch you up before bringing you to your mother."

It nuzzled against you, you hoped it understood what you said as you picked up with both your arms and took it carefully home.

Little did you know, someone was watching you the entire time with curiosity.

Days had passed.

It took a while for the little one to heal up as you helped it.

You knew it was a terrible idea to take a wild animal home especially a baby monkey. You figured it's mother was worried after all.

The baby monkey looked as though it had healed rather quickly so you decided to take it home. It's real home.

You picked up the a bunch of food and placed it into a bag, along with your ukulele.

You had the baby monkey climb onto your head and nuzzle into your hair as a pillow which you found absolutely adorable.

Thankfully your place wasn't as far from the path to the monkey village, it only took an hour or so.

You kept singing little tunes to the baby monkey and even told stories. It seemed as though it enjoyed them very well.

Once you both reached the place, you had the little monkey go on your arm.

"Alright bud, start calling out to your mother." You spoke softly.

The little one began doing what you asked of it, as you walked around. You saw other monkeys start popping up from their hiding spots which made you surprised at the amount.

After a while, one monkey came out rushing in concern calling towards the baby one. You instantly knew it was the mother as the little one jumped down and ran over, embracing it's mothers warmth.

You smiled at the reunion as you sat down yourself on a rock. You noticed other monkeys seemed to be attracted to your bag which you knew they were hungry.

"Come here you cuties." You chuckled, getting out fruits and snacks from your bag. "I'm not gonna eat all of this, it's alright!"

You could practically see sparkles in their eyes as they took it kindly. The mother nuzzled against you while the baby curled up against its mother, it was too cute for you.

Monkeys were so relaxed and calm against you. It was rather intriguing while you giggled to yourself, petting each one that came near you.

Another hour had passed, and it was rather quiet.

The monkeys ended up leaving you alone in peace which you wished they could've stayed but in circumstances, you didn't want them to be attached to humans. It's too risky.

You ended up pulling out your ukulele and took the fresh air in before exhaling. You started to play a tune softly as you smiled, leaning back against a tree.

It was so perfect.

Just the way you liked it.

[??? POV]

I starred at the human.

One of my children had explained to me what had happened.

This human decided to recuse and take care of my own kind out of a pure heart. It was sweet and perhaps I should let him visit more often then.

"I see.." I whispered. "Rather intriguing one..."

I chuckled softly looking at him while his hair flowed with the wind as he played his instrument.

"Monkey prince is a rather fitting name."
