-Zylan-

The media was still making a fuss about things that don't even concern them so dad decided to make my birthday celebration an excuse to leave the country for a while.

We were going to Brazil, at our family home where we planned to stay for at least two weeks. I wasn't complaining, Brazil really had good stuff to offer.

I only hated the part where Benjamin would bring his girlfriend, Cynthia, along and then ditch me for her for most of the trip.

I got into the plane and looked around.

"Looks like I'm not going to be the third wheel after all," I smirked, gazing at the small muffin seated at the back, reading a book.

She was too busy reading the book that she didn't notice my presence until the flight attendant came and told her to switch off her phone.

"Right," she nodded and switched off her phone. It was then that she noticed my presence.

"Hi small muffin," I waved at her.

"Small muffin?" She repeated, confused. I nodded and smiled.

I had started to realize that I was slowly developing feelings for her and that I wanted to be more than just the guy who got her pregnant by mistake. Benjamin had advised me to be less of a jerk around her and that's what I was trying to do even though she seemed rather creeped out by how nice I was being.

Immediately after the plane took off, she shut her eyes and held her neck pillow tight in her hands.

"Is she afraid of flying?" I thought to myself.

I put my hand on top of hers and squeezed it.

"The pillow is for your neck, not your hands," I whispered.

She removed her right hand from the bottom and put it on the top, squeezing mine instead.

After it was in the air, she took a deep breath and opened her eyes. She let go of my hand, "sorry about that."

"I have had aerophobia since my dad died though it's not that serious," she explained.

"Oh," I nodded, smiling through the pain though it hurt when she dug her nails into my skin.

"Yeah," she nodded and then sighed.

I was aware that her father died in a plane crush years ago. It was only natural for her to be afraid.

-Zylith-

Though Zylan could be a jerk sometimes, I appreciated how he could be there for me indirectly. Maybe that's why I was falling for him even harder than before.

"Why would anyone prefer reading a book instead of watching a movie or something," he scoffed and looked the other way like he wasn't talking to me.

"Fiction makes the impossible possible. It broadens my imagination and that's why I prefer books," I replied.

"Oh okay," he nodded, "though I never asked but, great."

I rolled my eyes and continued reading my book. It was a romance comedy book I had accidentally purchased from Amazon but ended up falling in love with.

"What's the book about anyway?" He nonchalantly asked. I didn't reply and pretended not to hear him because it was a book full of smutty stuff.

"Hey," I quietly exclaimed as he snatched the book away from my hands.

He opened a random page number and started reading. My eyes grew wide when I saw the page number. Page 78 was the most dangerous +18 page I had read thus far.
