In the chaos that has taken place so far outside the house, Berenice and Atreus try to listen carefully to everything from outside, while they're hidden under the floor. Atreus gathers his legs curled up in a corner and Berenice stands with her ear to the hatch, to listen to everything with impatience and panic.
Even though she can feel her heart beating fast and repeatedly in the silence of their basement she doesn't want to miss this so she listens carefully to the voice of the familiar stranger and her father talking from outside.

Stranger:Tell me what I want to know and no blood will be spilled!

With these words, the girl suspects that the stranger definitely came for her, perhaps for revenge or for a new battle coming up.
She can't figure it out, but the door is heard opening and the voices lower, so Berenice tries to listen a little better, without the boy realizing that she was terrified by his arrival.

Stranger:I expected you to be bigger. But it seems, you are the one. Far from your home right?
Kratos:What do you want?
Stranger:Oh... you already know the answer to that.

Berenice continues to gasp to the rhythm of her breathing and can barely feel her legs from the terror. Thinking that the man t to might have come for her, her regrets fight inside her repeatedly, in conflict with the past. And she thinks she didn't even get to tell her father that this stranger doesn't feel pain and that he
can't be defeated.

Kratos:Whatever you're looking for, I don't have it. Look elsewhere.

The stranger lets out a wry little laugh which Berenice clearly hears.

Stranger:And here I thought your kind was so enlightened! Better than ours, smarter! And yet you hide in the forest like a coward...

With these words that she clearly heard, the girl immediately understood that the stranger did not come for her. It addresses her father personally and does not mention herself. So no. This is not about her. This stranger probably came for her father. This doesn't make her any less afraid, but at least she knows she's not responsible for all of this.
And the dialogue continues from above, with the stranger threatening and her father warning, intent on protecting his children.

Kratos:You don't want this fight.
Stranger:Oh... I'm sure I want it...

And then the first punch falls and surprises both her and the boy. They can't tell who it fell from but it was clearly heard.

Kratos:Leave... my... home!

After a few minutes of silence, some punches and exclamations are heard again, not from the father but from the stranger. And after another punch there is some more silence and shouting, she thinks that one of the two must have immobilized the other and she even holds her breath in agony.
The truth is that she could never imagine any being, any creature defeating her father, but she has seen what this man can do, so she has doubts.

Atreus:Berrie, will father make it?
Berenice:Let's believe this! I just hope we don't have to stay down here forever!

And then the silence is broken by a loud bang and a small jolt of the ground outside the house that freezes their blood and leaves them speechless. It was as if one rock struck another rock and the earth shook. They had only seen this when the troll attacked and they have never seen their father do anything like this. They can't figure out who is doing it. But the voices change direction and are heard from the other side of the house, which means that both of them were thrown from one end of the house to the other.
