As the boat is propelled by Kratos arms through the water and through the thick fog, Atreus excitedly notices something on the horizon and alerts the other two.

Atreus:I think I see something! There, in the middle of the lake!
Berenice:Really? Is it moving?

Kratos and Berenice suspect that it is some enemy that lives in the sea and prepare their weapons but are relieved when they see that it is a huge statue of a warrior submerged up to the waist with a sword sticking out.

Berenice:It's a submerged statue.

Atreus then spots some runes carved into the statue's chest that complete a sentence in yellow. These runes are probably a code, or a message, or a solution/answer to some question.

Atreus:I see runes there. On his chest.

Kratos moves the boat towards the statue and towards the side where they saw the symbols and when they get a little closer, the boy can actually read them.

Atreus:Berrie, do you think that a door is going to open? We might find a sandbox in there!
Berenice:Since we can't see anything around here, it's probably just a phrase.

Atreus spends some time to read and when he clears everything up, he recites them.

Atreus:It says: "Sacrifice your weapons in the center of the water, reawaken the cradle of the world."

Berenice thinks for a while about what the phrase said and as she repeats them over and over in her mind she tries to interpret them and solve the riddle written on the wall while her father and brother still don't understand.

Atreus:What? Throw our weapons in the water? It won't be hard for YOU, father. Will you do it?

Berenice when she understands a little more the meaning of being thrown into the water an old legend she used to tell with her mother, the legend of Thor's enemy, to whom if you sacrifice your weapon he will give you eternal devotion. And perhaps the statue supplies this myth and in this lake is some enemy of Thor waiting for them to sacrifice their weapons.

Berenice:I know! Mother always said that if we sacrifice our weapons to the enemy of Thor, then the enemy will grant us eternal loyalty! But I don't see anyone here.

Kratos stands up, picks up the Leviathan axe and throws it towards the fog filled void of the lake.
But when he calls it back with his hand it does not return, which is unusual and surprising.

Kratos:The axe did not return.

And as soon as he says this, the earth beneath them begins to shake and the water shakes like a rumbling stomach, along with rumbling and shaking. This seems to Berenice a bad sign.

Berenice:Bad idea...

Immediately after the hum in the water, waves start rushing in that shake their boat violently, just like a storm in the middle of the sea.
While they are shaking and the waves are raising up and raging and the three are rocking sharply in the boat, Berenice to protect her brother holds him in her arms and she also holds fast to the boat and she, full of fear that the boy will fall into the water, holds him even stronger.

Berenice:What's going on?!
Kratos:Hold on kids!
Atreus:Berrie don't pull me back!
Berenice:Baby boy, hold on!

After a few seconds right in front of them they see what looks like a mountain moving in a horizontal direction like an animal but Berenice would have sworn it was a mountain.
