After her brother's arrogant and cruel words, Berenice tried very hard not to react negatively, not to cry or shout.
This was by far the worst argument she could ever have with him. And it was no ordinary and simple childish stupid fight between them. They were harsh and unforgiving words that hurt...

Berenice sincerely hopes that this behavior of the boy will be taken into account by her father.
As they proceed on their usual path with the Helwalkers attacking them and being forced to fight, Berenice is still thinking and looking saddened by all that she discussed with Atreus and in battle this time she acts less focused and efficient...
While at the same time Atreus seems to be helping neither his father nor his sister when it comes to battle. He just shoots arrows on his own wherever and whenever he wants.

After a battle with the Helwalkers which they all finish the boy talks again.

Atreus:Can I carry her too from here on?
Kratos:No.
Atreus:Why not? We're almost there. I can do it!
Kratos:Really? After the way that
you spoke of her, I doubt it.
Atreus:What? That she wasn't a god?
Kratos:She was better than a god. And you're not going to dishonour her!
Atreus:Fine! Carry her yourself!

Berenice takes a deep breath in exasperation, and surprisingly it's the same way she usually reacts when she's angry with her father. She never reacted like this to her brother...
And now the fact that Atreus insults their mother makes her furious.

As the battle ends their father collects loot and Berenice sits on a rock and rests until her father speaks to her.

Kratos:Girl, don't think about it. Words mean nothing.
Berenice:How can he act like this?
Kratos:I'll make sure he stops.
Berenice:What if you don't succeed?
Kratos:Hmmm...
Berenice:What if he is right? I mean... what kind of goddess am I? No one knows about me, no one admires me, no one worships me. How am I supposed to be a goddess?
Kratos:Being a god isn't all about being worshipped, girl. Be glad that you are strong and able to survive. Don't ask for anything more.

Berenice then changes the subject as she too realizes that they have indeed reached the end of their journey, and that all the suffering ends...
Maybe she deserves to carry them too
ashes for a while. She has endured so much on the journey, sacrificed so many times, fought Valkyries and the children of Thor, things her mother would be proud of and now her father won't let her carry her ashes before the end of the journey?

Berenice:I suppose you won't let me carry her either, right?

Kratos pauses in silence and stares thoughtfully and intently into space.
Berenice seems to take the negative answer her father gives her but had no expectations of him telling her anything different anyway.
Berenice, disappointed by her father's insistence once again, takes a breath and stands up, abruptly, angrily.

Berenice:I'll take that as no...

She stands up indignantly crossing her arms and then, it happens again...
He feels around the atmosphere that obsessive mood and will to get somewhere, like those two times with the locked doors and the two Valkyries they freed, Gonnr and Kara.
And as soon as she feels this pull from the atmosphere she immediately alerts her father.

Berenice:Father! I feel it again... a Valkyrie!

Kratos stands up and marvels at his daughter's same sense.

Kratos:Are you sure?
Berenice:Yes...
Atreus:Really?! You've spotted a Valkyrie! Awesome!

Berenice as always gathers all this emotion and lets her feet follow her with her, this time with more self control and as her father and brother follow behind her, she ends up leading them to a small narrow stone passage, up which he climbs a few stairs, and immediately there, he finds a large door sealed as always with the characteristic frozen magic lock.
