Chapter Twenty Three - Fight between two goddesses

There was no time to waste now that they had discovered that there was a second chance to reach Jötunheim. Now they had to act and find that new key.
Kratos finds the exit from Tyr's temple in Helheim through an elevator, and there before they reach the bottom and the children are left silent by Kratos fully aware of what he is saying to his children.

Kratos:Kids... before... what, you saw...

Berenice really wants to discuss it with her father, but this moment might not be the best moment. Even if her father is ready to answer, Berenice without realizing beckons Atreus not to speak until the time is right.

Atreus:We didn't see anything.
Kratos:Didn't you see me with someone? An old man?
Berenice:Which old man? What are you saying?

Berenice clearly notices her father's distant and knowing gaze and although she takes it as guilt she just saves it for later, for when the time comes. She just beckons her brother again not to ask him questions, until the time comes when he can't lie anymore.

Atreus:Shall we leave now?
Kratos:Yes...

Kratos without speaking, and as the elevator reaches the hall of kingdoms, where Helheim's green crystal clearly shines, and everyone proceeds to the main table.

Mimir:Okay! We return to Midgard to make the key.

After everyone enters the center by the table, Kratos with the Bifrost unlocks the way to Midgard and then the return begins to approach with the rotation of the table and the similar way they make their journeys.
It was a tough setback but in the end it kept them working together and taught them all a lesson, teaching them to work together again.

There as their journey happens moments before they reach Brok, the temple of Midgard, Berenice begins to wonder if she will actually be able to hold off Baldur, who has tried to get rid of him even temporarily.

Berenice:Mimir, do you think Baldur will keep his promise? If I convince Freya?
Mimir:Well, if you consider that Baldur is angry with his mother even now, and that he is Odin's son, it wouldn't seem surprising to me if he broke his word.
Kratos:Why didn't you tell us that Baldur is Freya's son, head?
Mimir:It is! I'm shocked every time I hear that as if I didn't already know that! When I think of Baldur, with Freya...

Berenice notices a strange behavior in the way Mimir deals with the whole Baldur thing. It's like she knows about him but can't say. As if there is something inside him that stops him from helping them.

Atreus:Mimir?

Berenice:You have spoken many times about Baldur but each time it is as if you have been... made or as if you have been forced to say the same things over and over again. I'm sure you knew. Maybe you don't remember very well.
Kratos:Head, tell me about Baldur's weak spot.
Mimir:Baldur is gifted with immunity to all threats, whether terrestrial or magical!
Berenice:Here, you're doing it again!
Atreus:Wait a minute, what's going on?
Kratos:He has been witched so he wouldn't say what he knows.

Yeast. Yes, that would be a very good explanation. That's why Mimir still can't tell them anything about Baldur, even though he clearly knows enough.

Atreus indignantly voices the effects of the magic on Mimir's mind, and Kratos proceeds to the door to the main entrance to the temple, where they will visit Brock for the key.
