"They can't take care of one monster?" he says. "No they can't. It's not just one" Me and Eun-hyuk say in unison. Everyone then looks outside to see all of the monsters out there. A monsterous voice was then heard saying. "Protein!" Chills went down my spine. "What the hell is happening?" Yi-kyung asks. "I don't know" Eun-hyuk says. "Maybe the world is finally coming to an end" He adds.
*Present*
I run up the stairs, pushing the burning and pain in my legs aside. I had to get to Hyun-su. I enter in the code and walk in to see him still asleep. I sigh sadly and out of exhaustion. I put my back against the wall and fell asleep.
*3rd person*
Not long after Y/n fell asleep a knock was heard. Ji-su looks through the intercom and sees Eun-hyuk. "Hey. I know this sounds strange but I followed Y/n here and I tried to catch up to her but I was too slow. She left her gun on the first floor. I wanted to give it to her." He says. Ji-su cracks open the door and he hands the gun through. "Get some rest" Was the last thing he said before heading back downstairs. Ji-su puts the gun on Y/n's lap and puts her back against the door before also falling asleep.
*The next morning* *1st person*
I wake up the next morning to find my gun in my lap. I stand up with it in hand and put it in my back pocket. I then realize I still have my backpack on and take it off. I walk over to Hyun-su and see him moving. He was having a nightmare. I put a pillow under his head to provide some comfort and so his head wouldn't hurt so bad when he wakes up. Ji-su had woken up before me and was crouched next to his computer. "Oh! I can't believe he just left him here to die like this" She whispers. I shrug. She then feels his forehead. "Why is he so cold?" She asks. She then stands up and leaves as the computer turns on.
I look at the computer to see. 'TRENDING MONSTER, STATE OF ALERT- NOSEBLEED, AUDITORY HALLUCINATION, PANIC BUYING, SHELTER, CHAOS' I then notice that number one is blue. NOSEBLEED. I quickly get an alarming system that will wake him if anything triggers it. I then leave and rush back down stairs. I then see them blocking the entrance and a woman trying to stop them.
"Ma'am. Please talk with me" I say calmly. I pull her off to the side and had her explain. "I know your daughter is out there. My mom and little brother are out there. My dad has turned. I know your pain and worry of having your family out there. I know I'm not a mom and I may never get to experience it, but think as a leader. Not as a mother at this time. He's trying to keep everyone safe so we don't lose anymore people. Please trust him" I say softly. "Please have him open it" She pleads.
Suddenly alerts go off and we all check out phones. It showed that if you had 'NOSEBLEEDS, BLACKOUTS, SUDDEN AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR' that you need to be quarantined. I do more research to see that fainting is also one of the symptoms. I think back to the night before. Hyun-su had fainted.
I then rush back up the stairs and carefully re-enter the room to see him still asleep. I sigh softly and decided to make something to eat. I made a simple salad and started to eat while keeping an eye out. Once I was done I then took down the alarm system. A few hours later he woke up and I quickly looked for something to make him only to find that there is nothing left. I gave him a glass of tea to try and hold him over. He then quickly finishes the drink. I took the cup and put it in the sink. I saw him walk over to the window and heard weird squelching. I look over to see Hyun-su covering his face. I start to walk over when I see blood fall onto his mattress. I look out the window and saw how Korea looked.
I suddenly teared up and thought back to when my first dad was alive.
*Flashback*
"How do you feel now that you graduated early sweetheart." He asked me."Happy" I say with a smile. "Graduating at 16 is a new record for the family. Your grand father graduated at 17" he says. I laugh. Proud that I set a new record. "Well done Y/n" My step-mom, Mackenzie, says. My step-mom was a foreigner.
⚠⚠⚠ That night when dad was at work with Min-Suk as he wanted to go with him, Mackenzie took the time to beat me. "You weren't meant to graduate early!" she shouts as she punches me in the stomach. "You don't do anything correctly!" She says as she throws me to the floor. "You will go to med school! And its final!" she shouts. "Too late. Dad already submitted me to a police academy." I say standing up. She then grabs my hair and slams me into the nearest lamp. "You don't deserve any of this!" She shouts.⚠⚠⚠
*Present*
The memories then got worse. As I remembered the amount of times she would beat me, hurt me, the amount of times I've been admitted to the hospital because of her. My depression then hit me like a truck. I've gotten out of my depressive state before. I've also been diagnosed with depression at 17.
I then felt something liquidy run down over my lips. I bring my hand up and wipe some of it away to see that it's blood. I hold my hands over the lower half of my face trying not to have it go down my face. I head to the bathroom as Hyun-su closes the curtains. I lean over the sink as the nosebleed gets worse. "How does it feel?" Someone says, yet it sounds like me. "Look in the mirror" It says. I look up and see 2 different versions of me.

"Go and keep him safe" The one of the left says. "No. He doesn't need you. No one needs you" The one on the right says. "Yes. He does need you. They all do" The left one says. I put my hands over my ears. "Shut up" I say while shaking and breathing heavily. The nosebleed slowed to a stop and I washed my face and hands. "Hey" Hyun-su calls out. I walk out and over to him to see him reading a website.
"It's not a disease. It's a curse. They complain of frequent nosebleeds. Cause couldn't be determined. They weren't from here. They came because they showed symptoms. They turned into miserable, desperate beings. Every prediction was wrong. It suddenly happened one day and it never stops. I was consumed by it. Humans won't overcome this. If you have symptoms, kill yourself before it's too late. Being alive will harm others. If you decide to live to the end there's something you must know. That is-" He read until the internet cut out. 'Damn it' I thought. I then hear his stomach growl. "I'll go get some ingredients" I say. "I'll come." He say softly.
I grab my gun and open the door. I then heard a growl. I look across the hall and he a monster with half its head gone. We back up as its hand grabs the door frame. We then slowly crouch down and I look back at Hyun-su and put a finger over my mouth. Signalling him to be quiet. He nods, shaking while trying to control his breathing.
I carefully take off my shoes to lessen the amount of noise I make while moving. The monster kept repeating 'I can't see' as it went and stood in the middle of the room. I notice that Hyun-su was looking at his makeshift spear. I gave him my gun, that had safety on, and slowly made my way toward the makeshift spear.
I then slowly grab onto the handle of it and feel a tug on my shirt. I look up and see its arm move. Next thing we know is that it's impaled the speaker. We watch as it retracts its arm and starts to make its way towards us. We carefully move out of the way and I held my breath as it walks by us.
I get up and carefully went into my apartment and grabbed what I needed. I then carefully re-entered the room as to not gain its attention. I then slammed the door shut.
