I look in the mirror and see Light. "Why did you do that?" She asks. "They nee-No. No they don't. No one needs me." I say sadly. My shoulder blades then really hurt and I see spikes growing from my back. "Yes they do. You named me Light for a reason. I'm your side that wants to live and protect those you care about. Now please. Think about the others." I then thought back to Yeong-su and Su-yeong, and how I promised to protect them. To Hyun-su, how I was with him ever since he was here and the fact that he told me about his past, a secret that I would take with me to the grave.

To the others, how we had to survive together, and make it out alive, to my mom, brother and my dads, how I had to survive for them to continue the bloodline. If there is a chance to. The spikes then went back into my skin and I lost feeling in my legs so I caught myself with the sink. I look into the mirror to see that Light was no longer there. I then clean everything up and exited the restroom. I then put everything away and sat at the table with Yeong-su on my lap as it was a small table. "Lets eat up" We all start to dig in and Jae-heon starts to pray.

Du-sik then asks for their names and pointed out how similar they are. "Dad named us both" Su-Yeong says. I stop eating and looked at Hyun-su only to see he was already looking at me. We both knew what happened to their dad. A death that could have been avoided if we were only louder when we were warning him. I then felt Yeong-sus mood change and I gave him a soft hug to try and comfort him, only to feel pain due to the wounds that the others have yet to notice. Thankfully.

I then gave him a piece of my meat and he thanked me which caused me to smile which caused Hyun-su to blush, which I failed to notice. I then hear a can open and I look up to see Du-sik offering a beer to Jae-heon and Ji-su. Jae-heon rejects as he doesn't drink often. Ji-su then takes the beer and starts drinking it.

He then goes to hand one to Hyun-su but he rejects as he was 19. I chuckle. "Just take it. It's the end of the world anyways." I say as I continue eating. He hesitantly takes the beer and takes a sip. His face gives it away that he's not a big fan. We then laugh at his reaction. "No" he says as he sets it down, staring at it in disgust, thinking about how people could drink that. I chuckle and shake my head as I took another bite. "You try it" He says as he hands it to me.

I take it and took a drink, giving no reaction as I set it down when in reality I was also grossed out. "How?!" He says. "I hide it" I say as my eyes start to give it away as they were watering. "How do people drink that?" I ask and everyone laughs. I then remembered he put his mouth on it and so did I. Oh well. I lightly blush at the thought and he also seemed to realize and also lightly blushed. No one noticed though. Or so we thought. We continued eating and having a good time. Du-sik gave the kids and Hyun-su a soda while I pushed through on the beer.

Once we were done we were discussing shifts for watch and I grabbed my spear and sat by the door. They noticed and said that I needed rest more out of everyone and I just said. "Get some sleep guys" They sighed and they went to sleep. I turned off the lights and made a call with the earbuds in. I knew I wasn't going to be able to get any sleep with my nightmares so I stayed up all night, allowing them to get their much needed rest.

They wake up to see me in the exact same spot from last night as the night went fast for me. "Morning" I say as I stand up and walk towards them. "Did you wake anyone for their shift?" Ji-su asks. "No. I knew I wasn't going to be getting any sleep anyways so might as well be on watch duty all night" I say. "You're still human you need rest" Jae-heon says. I shake my head.

"It's been a while since I've been to the first floor so I'm going out." I say as I grab all of my stuff. "You guys stay here" I say as I throw my bags over my shoulder. I grab my gun and put it in my back pocket as I grab my spear. I take my phone out and made a call and put an earbud in. I put my phone in my pocket and put a hand on the doorknob. I look back at them. "Stay safe" Was all I said as I left the room and closed the door.

I run down every hallway and stair to get down to the first floor as fast as possible. Ji-su knew I would call the room once I was safe. After 20 minutes I made it to the first floor. I then take everything in. The rude old man locked himself in his shop and everyone else was taking food from a new face, he had wounds on his face as if they were old yet recently treated. I set my stuff down near a pillar and sat down, catching my breath.

Suddenly waltz music started playing and the old man started yelling for them to turn it off, worried that the long tongue monster would come back. I pull my gun out and turned safety off and shot the wall. This made everyone flinch and their attention turned to me. "Shut the fuck up. No one wants to hear your fucking voice" I say pissed and annoyed. "You bitch. Is that how you talk to elders?!" He yells back. "It's how I talk to abusers and people who don't treat others right and is having them pay for food in a time of need" I say glaring at him. I sneakily turned safety on and pointed the gun at him. Seeing his reaction made me chuckle and I put the gun away.

Suddenly the shutters started to rise and the mother started taking down the barrier. Then Eun-hyuks' voice rang over the intercom saying that the first floor is safe. I rush to the nearest phone and called Du-siks' room. The phone was answered. "Hello?" Du-sik answered. "Hey/ It's Y/n. To strengthen the announcement the first floor is safe. You can start sending people down" I say. "Okay. Thanks for letting us know" "No problem" I then hung up the phone.

I then rush over to the entrance and helped the 2 guys pull her away. "What's going on?!" Eun-hyuks' voice called from behind us. She shoved us off and showed him how close her daughter was. She then tried to get out but the guys held her. Suddenly I see 2 people show up and one was holding a small child. I recognized them. "Mom! Min-Suk!" I call out. I step back in shock as I had given up hope that they would make it.

The military guy then runs out towards them. My mom trips and lands on her side as the military guy and the daughter got impaled by the tongue monster. "Mom run!" I shout. She quickly got up and tightly held onto Min-Suk and ran inside. I then rushed towards her and hugged her. Min-Suk turned towards me and hugged back.

"I thought were guys were dead" I cry out. I pulled them away from the entrance and we sat by the pillar with my things. "How did you guys get here safely?" I ask as I pull out of the hug. "Your father" I felt the blood drain from my face. "But he was infected" "He controlled his monster side and protected us all the way here" I then grab onto the necklace that he gave me. There was one thing I now had to do.

I have to protect my family at all times now
