The military guy then runs out towards them. My mom trips and lands on her side as the military guy and the daughter got impaled by the tongue monster. "Mom run!" I shout. She quickly got up and tightly held onto Min-Suk and ran inside. I then rushed towards her and hugged her. Min-Suk turned towards me and hugged back.

"I thought were guys were dead" I cry out. I pulled them away from the entrance and we sat by the pillar with my things. "How did you guys get here safely?" I ask as I pull out of the hug. "Your father" I felt the blood drain from my face. "But he was infected" "He controlled his monster side and protected us all the way here" I then grab onto the necklace that he gave me. There was one thing I now had to do.

I have to protect my family at all times now

*Present*

The new face then tried to be positive and told them that she could still be alive. "No one can survive that a direct attack like that" I say softly. "They did! Why aren't they dead?! Why my daughter?!" "You keep my Mom and brother out of this!" I say as I stood and took out my gun, turning safety off. I glared at the woman.

"Close the shutters" Was all I said before Eun-hyuk went and closed them. He started to rebuild the barricade when the tongue broke through the locker. I pulled my knife out and stabbed the tongue. It squirmed and pulled away, back to the host. We then finished re-building the barricade and I sat next to my Mom and brother. 

*Hyun-su pov, with the others*

"You really can't trust that announcement. Even with Y/n calling to tell us we can't fully be sure." Du-sik says. "Are you gonna be okay?" He asked Ji-su. "Don't worry about me, I'll be alright. We need to do something" She says, reassuring him. I then zone out and was brought back to reality when Ji-su said. "You know, someone once said to me, even complete darkness disappears with the faintest light" I knew what that meant. I thought back to all the meaningful times I had so far with Y/n, how she was there for me when no one else was. I then grab my things. "So, uh, can I go with you?" I ask.

"I guess three is better than two. Right?" She says as she looks at Jae-heon. "Of course" He says. "Okay then. Go. Go! All of you go." I then walk over to them. "Hyun-su, you will come back, okay?" Yeong-su asks. I turn towards him. "Okay" I say with a smile. "Thank you so much for saving us" Su-yeong says with a bow. We start to leave and Ji-su and Jae-heon were out the door when Du-sik calls my name. I turn back to him. "Don't forget what we talked about. Tell her before it's too late" He says. I lightly blush and left the room, closing the door behind me. 

*Y/n pov, on the first floor*

I was sitting next to mom with Min-suk asleep in my arms. I watch as the others are reinforcing the barricade for the entrance. I then feel someone staring and I already knew it was the grieving mother. She should've known that it was bound to happen. That's what happens when you have too much hope. Min-suk wakes up and rubs his eyes.

"You have a nice nap Min-suk?" I ask. He nods and I chuckle. "I'm bored" He says. "Is there a game you want to play?" I ask. "um...Hide and Seek?" He asks. I chuckle. "Okay. You can only stay on the first floor. No stairs and no garage. Okay?" I say. He nods. "I'll give you 20 seconds" I say as I let him go. He takes off running as I set an alarm.

"Is there anyone you like here?" Mom asks. "Yeah. And what type of like?" I ask. "As in romantic like" She explains. This makes me shocked. "Umm...Well yeah-Who is it?!" "He's-" I was cut off by the alarm going off. I turn off the alarm and went to find Min-suk.

I looked in the basic hiding spots and didn't find him. I was walking past the old man's shop when I see MIn-suk in there out of the corner of my eye. "Min-suk! Come here!" I say. He rushes over to me as the old man rushes into view. "Yah! Let the kid go!" The old man yells gaining everyone's attention. I crouch down to his level. "Are you okay Min-suk?" I ask worried. "Yeah. I'm okay" He says.

I look towards the old man as I pick Min-suk up. "Yah! Put him down!" He shout. "No" was all I said before I started walking away. After a few seconds nothing happened and then Min-suk shouted "Watch out!" I looked over my shoulder to see him with a knife. I set Min-suk down and grabbed the knife as he tried to stab me.

"You kidnapper!" He shouts. Everyone tried to help but they were too afraid of him to get close. Min-suk ran to Mom and she picked him up. "Why would I kidnap my own brother?" I say. I rip the knife out of his hands and pointed it at him. I knew my eyes turned gold. This caused him to freak out. 

"She's infected!" He shouts. Light had my eyes go back to normal just as Eun-hyuk came into view. "No she isn't" He says. I glare at him and dropped the knife. He took me away with mom following with Min-suk still in her arms. He then brought out a first aid kit and started treating my wounds. I had Sorrow and Light slow only the bleeding and not heal the wounds. Once we are done we head back into the main area. I then hear a scream. 

"It came from the staircase" I say. I run over to the doors and took down the barricade. I open the doors to see a girl looking at the floor. I go next to her. "Hyun-su!" I shout. I rushed to his side and quickly picked him up. Which was a great effort to do. I walk back into the main area to see everyone there. They start talking when they see me carrying him.

Eun-hyuk walks over to me and leads me to a room in the back. I then laid him on a green crate. I then sat in a corner near him and my mom brought my things. I thanked her and held my spear, keeping an eye out for anything that could attack. After a few hours he woke up. I rushed to his side. 

"Hyun-su. Are you okay?" I asked worried. He nods. "Yeah. I'm okay" He says softly. Eun-yu walks in. Eun-hyuk had told me about her. They both had a conversation until Eun-hyuk walked in. He then caught Hyun-su up to date and I then sat next to him. I then saw the amount of blood on his head. "Does it  hurt?" I ask him worried. He put a hand on the back of his head and brought it back into view to see blood. "No. I don't feel it" He says. I nod. 

Eun-hyuk then leads us out into the main area and Hyun-su stuck to my side. I was holding my spear along with my bags sling onto my shoulder. Everyone was walking by when the old man had stopped. I roll my eyes and this didn't go unnoticed by Hyun-su. 

"You're out of your mind" The old man says. "You brought a monster in here" He walked around Eun-hyuk and went straight to Hyun-su, ignoring the fact that I'm next to him with a spear. "Don't you dare turn. Got it? You crazy monster. Or I'll slice your throat myself" He says. I press the electric button on my spear to activate the electrifying noise while glaring at him.

I let the button go and pointed the sharp end towards the old man. "You stay the fuck away from him" I say as my left eye went gold. He freaked out and Eun-hyuk looked in my direction and didn't see it as my hair was covering my eye, making it only visible from the front. My eye goes back to normal as I brought my spear away from him. I grabbed Hyun-sus' hand and took him away from him.
