I leaned against the opposite wall and tried to even out my breathing, which was hard, if you have a most likely deep gash in your side and your holding in your guts. I then think back to how my old life was, yes it was hard but it seemed like paradise compared to this. Fighting the urge to give in every second of every day,awake or asleep, no matter the emotion, your inner self will try everything it can to make you break.

I wanted to go back to how everything was before all of this, and I remembered, even if I had moved or not, if I chose to go to med school, if I took a different path, I would still have to fight this way of life. As the world has started to end, so has humanity and another life form will roam. The new life form being

*Present*

We walk into the duos apartment and the girl alongside Hyun-su sets the gangster down and he leads on a wall. I slid down the wall and held the pained expression back. Hyun-su walked over to me and kneeled in front of me. "You okay?" He asked in a whisper. "Yeah. It's not like I'm stopping myself from bleeding out." I respond in a harsh whisper.

He looks down sadly. "Sorry" I sighed and pulled him to my side and gave him a kiss on the head. "It's fine. I'm just in a lot of pain, but I'll heal." I say softly. 

Suddenly the gangster wakes up and the lady tries to dress his wounds but he doesn't want it and he leaves. Hyun-su stands up and helps me up but the lady grabs my arm. "Hey, you both look pretty hurt yourselves." "I'm...fine" He responds. I nod. "I'm fine as well" I say. "Move those hands. It'll get infected if you don't treat it" She says. "We'll do it ourselves. Can you give us the bandage?" He ask. 

Suddenly we were held at bow point as her friend held up the crossbow at us. "Move the hands, You're turning, aren't you?" He asks. With no response he takes it as a yes. "Yu-ri, get the girl and yourself away from him" The lady whose name is Yu-ri grabs my free hand and pulls me away from him.

"Move your hand now, or else I'll make sure your heart will never beat again" He says. I try to pull my arm out of her grip but he holds on tighter. "He could be turning" "I know, but he's still human, leave him alone!" I shout. The older guy looks at me. 

"Just because someone could be infected doesn't mean that they are a monster yet. We are all infected just because it hasn't taken over yet. This infection is based on desire, and if it's strong enough it will show. He's still human if he hasn't transformed. Now answer this. Is he in his monster form?" I ask. He shakes his head no.

"Then leave him be" Hyun-su put his hand down during my small speech lecture thing and the guy looked back in time to see his wound heal. I set my hand down and Yu-ri saw the gash on my side heal. I knew that my eyes had turned gold as the wound healed. "Get out of here, both of you. I wouldn't have helped you if I knew you were both monsters" I sigh. The spill was for nothing. 

He tosses the bandage back to Yu-ri and he grabs him weapon. He then grabs my hand and we start walking towards the door when he started laughing. We turn back around and I glare at the man. "You don't have to leave. Why in the world would I be scared of you when I'm going to die?" He asks. I sigh and set my head on Hyu -sus' shoulder as I started to get a headache. Apparently as an infected we still get those.

I ended up blocking everyone out and only listened when the old man said that he wasn't afraid of death and insisted that he tagged along. "Don't act tough. You may think you're not afraid of death until you're seconds from it. There is a difference between not being afraid of death and wanting to die. Drop the act."

I gave Hyun-su a look saying "I'll meet you there" he nodded and I gave him a kiss on the cheek and left. I started running as soon as the door shut. I arrived at his door and gave the special knock. Du-sik opens the door and gives me a nod. I gave him a nod back and he moved out of the way and I walked in.

The kids looked over and saw me and jumped up and rushed to me. I quickly and carefully set my weapon down and gave them a hug when they ran into my arms. "I missed you Unnie/Noona!" They say happily. "I missed you too. Have you been good for Mr. Du-sik?" I asked. They nodded their heads and I smiled at how cute they were.

I stood up and took off my backpack and placed it near the door along with my shoes. I yawned and rubbed my eyes. "Get some rest. I'll keep an eye out for when he gets here" I nod. I gave him the number to the first floor phone and went over to the bed and laid down.

*3rd person*

15 minutes after Y/n fell asleep. Hyun-su arrived at the door and gave the special knock. The door opens and Du-sik lets him in. Du-sik could see he was tired. "Get some rest." He nods. He walks over to the phone and calls down to Eun-hyuk, letting him know that they would be a lot longer than planned. After getting the green light he took his stuff off and put them next to Y/ns' by the door and took off his shoes.

He walked into the restroom and got a wet rag and cleaned himself of the dried blood. He cleaned the rag off and went and cleaned off Y/n of the blood. He put the rag back and laid next to her under the covers. She cuddled into his chest and he wrapped his arms around her and soon fell asleep.
