The other people that were outside the door tried to stop me from taking my brother to see Hyun-su but with the button they stopped. It's surprising how fast people can change once they realize what you are. I lift open the gate and open the door. I see Hyun-su still sitting there and Min-suk rushed towards him.

I lowered the gate and shut the door. I look back and see then talking. I softly smile and walked over. I then noticed the new guy on the other side of the room. I sat next to Min-suk and now it was the waiting game.

*Present*

After a while the door opens and Eun-hyuk walks in. Seok-hyeon rushes over and stands in front of him. "I'm really okay" He says with a stupid smile on his face. "Cha Hyun-su. Lee Y/n" He calls. We look up and Min-suk wakes up as he fell asleep. "I need to talk to you two" He says. We stand up as Seok-hyeon started complaining.

I cover my brothers ears as I didn't want him losing his hearing because of that mans' annoying voice. Min-suk ran out and Hyun-su and I were stopped. "You know, he's using you" I glare at him and pushed him off of us. I then pulled Hyun-su out of the room and Eun-hyuk closed and locked the door before the old man could get out. 

"It's important we keep the front gate barricaded at all times. We also need more wooden planks and chains blocking the stairs. Monsters could get through at any moment. The same goes for the room back there. Why do you think I took your side earlier?" He asks Hyun-su. After no response he says.

"I'll be honest with you both. You'll do all the dangerous work from now on. The both of you. If you can't do that, then I can't help you." he says. "What do you mean?" Hyun-su asks. "The guy in Room 1408. Can you bring him here?" He asks. 

I then get pissed. I then slapped him. "After everything I did, all the time I spent both making sure all people both up and downstairs are safe, you decide to us me as some dog?!" I say. "You both can regenerate after a deadly wound. We can't-So you have us be your meat shields. I thought you were braver than that. You're just pathetic." I interrupt. I grab Hyun-sus' hand and went away from him. 

"Y/n" I stopped and let his hand go. "I get where he's coming from Hyun-su, but he can't make this decision for us. We are still human" I say as I turn towards him. "We still have the right to choose if we allow ourselves to be puppets for him" I say. He sighs. "Well I'm going to. They need supplies." "And they are being reckless and they are too scared to put their lives at risk to keep themselves and others alive. You realize that they are using our regeneration ability so they could live?" I ask. He nods. I shake my head. "Do what you want. I need more time" I say. I then turn around and went to my family. 

"Mom!" I call out. I didn't get a response. I sighed and used my hearing. I then heard my brother crying so I ran where it was coming from. I run into the room to see everyone gathered around something. "Get out of the way!" I shout. They all moved and showed what they were hiding. My mom was on the floor with a huge gash in her side. I then saw a note. I picked it up and it said.

"Dear Y/n,

I'm so sorry you had to find out this way. When we were on our way here your father protected us. But in the night we were attacked and it almost got Min-suk, luckily it didn't but it came with a price. I shielded him with my body and got the gash. 

In my left front pocket is a couple bracelet that Michael and I had. I'm giving it to you and Hyun-su for when you two get together. And if you ever see a giant goo snake like creature, that's your father. He'll recognize you. I love you, Y/n

Love, your mom, Mi-sang"

I let my tears silently fall and reached into her pocket and pulled out the bracelets. 

I finally broke and held the bracelets close to my chest. Min-suk cried into my side and I held him close with my other arm. Eun-hyuk and Hyun-su rushed in a few minutes later after someone went and got them and they stopped in their tracks at the sight. I stand and picked up Min-suk. I then walked out of the room without paying any attention to the boys. 

I walk into the back room and sat on the crate. "Mom" Min-suk cried out. I pulled him close and comforted him to the best of my ability. After a few minutes he went silent and his breathing evened out. He had fallen asleep. I lay him down and stood up as Hyun-su walked in. I go to exit but he grabbed my arm.

"I'm sorry about your mother." I said nothing and grabbed his left wrist and put his bracelet on him and left. I put mine on as I grabbed my weapons. I then quickly found Eun-hyuk. "Fine. I'll help on one condition" I say. He nods, telling me to continue. "I lead the attacks on any monster that we find" He nods and goes to find Hyun-su.
