Emptiness.

That's all you've felt since Rafe became someone you didn't recognize.

It started with the coke. Then came the aggressiveness towards the Pogues. Then came the aggressiveness towards you. And now he's shot Sheriff Peterkin.

You told yourself it'd get better. Countless times. But it's only gotten worse. You began to lose yourself while trying to help your boyfriend.

Your mind was a constant battle between yourself. It's wrong to stay with him, he's a murderer now. But I love him. I can't leave. This part will end.

Those words replayed in your head every second of every day. So how could you not be depressed?

Your relationship wasn't always like this; you two used to be so happy. You couldn't believe how lucky you were to be with Rafe Cameron. It was a dream.

But now it feels like a nightmare that you can't escape from. You still have some good days with him. But when it's bad, oh it's bad.

The reality of it is that your relationship has slowly turned toxic. And you were aware of that, but it was so addicting.

You knew you couldn't go on like this much longer, so something had to change, and you planned on that happening today.

"Hey, babe," Rafe greeted you as he opened the door to his large home to let you inside.

"Hey," you replied, forcing a smile.

You didn't know if Rafe noticed how different you were around him now.

Last time you saw him, he'd thrown a glass right by your head in anger because of an argument he'd had with his dad earlier that day. You knew he struggled with the emotions his dad made him feel, but you didn't understand how he could take it out on you.

It'd been a few days since that happened, as you needed some time to recover after that. Rafe apologized countless times. He blew up your phone every day until now. You finally found the courage to see him again.

You stepped onto the marble flooring as Rafe closed the door behind you. You felt so small standing there in the large space, especially with Rafe standing behind you.

You turned to look at him, trying to figure out if he was sober or not before you let the next sentence slip out of your mouth.

"I think we need to have a talk," you said. You almost winced as you said it, not wanting to make him mad.

He took a deep breath, probably thinking you were going to break up with him. You wondered if he'd even care that much if you did.

"About?" He asked you, stepping closer to you. Without realizing, you took a step back, and he looked taken aback once he realized you had done that.

"Us," was all you could muster out.

He nodded his head without saying anything. He took your hand and lead you to the living room, where you both took a seat on the couch. You sat so you were facing him, and he brought your feet up to rest on his lap, something he used to do all the time to rub your feet, which he knew you loved.
