A dream wedding

Chapter 9

Britt had invited Nathan and Maxie into her moms house wanting to know what news they had to share. Nathan asked Britt if their mom was here aswell. Britt said "yes" and then called for her mom to come to the living room as Nathan and Maxie were here to see them and had some news. Leisl hugged her son then sat on the couch saying "happy new year to you two, so what is this news you have for me"
Nathan said "well happy new year to you aswell, our news is just that it's very happy, maxie has made me so happy because..." Maxie then jumped into speak "Nathan asked me to marry him last night"
Leisl then said "and your answer - did you get married last night" Nathan then said "no we did not get married last night - I proposed last night and maxie said yes but we didn't get married last night. Maxie will want to plan our wedding - we want to plan it together with the help of family and friends" Britt was so excited for her brother and maxie she went straight up to them hugging them together so they were in a group hug of three. Britt said "this is great news I can't believe I'm going to get a sister - anything you need help with I'm here to help." Maxie was like "actually Britt there is something I would like help with, will you be one of my bridesmaids?" Britt was shocked to be asked but said "really of course I would be honoured standing by my brother and the love of his life as they become husband and wife. Thank you for asking me. I can not wait to go shopping with you for wedding accessories"

While Britt was excited Leisl had stayed rather quiet on the couch, Nathan noticed this and said "well Leisl - mom what do you think to our news?" She thought about it for a second then said "Nathan son Maxie I'm thrilled for you both, just don't sit me next to my sister when you plan out the seating plans I want to furthest place away from her". Maxie said " we'll try and thank you for being happy for us I know you both mean so much to Nathan and I just want us all to be able to get along, we are all going to be family one day" Leisl said "that shouldn't be a problem Nathan means so much to me to and I see how much you mean to him I'm sure we can all be civil and friendly to each other. We might even become friends as long as you don't hurt my son." Maxie said "I have no plans on hurting Nathan - I love him so much that's the last thing I plan on doing - hey Britt we are going to the floating rib after here so I can tell mac our news and to meet up with some friends to tell them aswell do you want to come along to share in our happy news with us?" Nathan then said "come on Britt we would really love it if you would come we haven't seen each other for a while, you work so hard and your always working - I know I'm working lots aswell so when we can we should spend time together we are siblings. Now is the perfect time to spend time together as we celebrate with the people who are important to us as we celebrate our engagement news" Britt replied saying "ok you've twisted my arm I'll come". Maxie said "you just have to keep our news secret until we let everyone else know when they arrive later at the floating rib I've only told lulu and my mom and you and your mom so we'd like to let the others know together. I haven't even told mac yet so I'll tell him first before the others get to the floating rib". Britt said " fine by me I'm glad to be on the other side of the secret knowing it for a change not really the one having to keep it". Maxie asked Britt "are you going to come with us and get a taxi home later or do you want to take your car and meet us there?" Nathan then said "I could drop Britt off later I'm driving anyway" maxie then said "are we not going take the car home and get a taxi to the floating rib ourselves so we can both celebrate and have a few drinks, we are celebrating our engagement then I'm sure we'll be wanting to get home to celebrate in other ways to later" Nathan then said " so either way Britt can come with us now then, we can drop the car off at home then get a taxi to the floating rib with Britt aswell, then we can share a taxi home I'm sure they'll drop us off first them take Britt home later" Maxie said "fine that's settled Britt your coming with us now".
They said bye to Leisl and went on their way Britt picking up a bag on her way out. They then all got in Nathan's car maxie and Nathan sat in the front while Britt climbed into the back. They stopped by their flat on the way over maxie had called to book a taxi to pick them up from the apartment at 7:15 so that they could get to the floating rib for 7:30 so she had time to tell and celebrate with mac and Britt while they waited for the others to arrive for 8:00.
