Brice's POV
"Should've used a bigger spell," Seto muttered to himself, cupping his hand around Tyra's miniscule figure protectively and holding her close.
I rolled my eyes, "Jesus Seto, you got him good! Any bigger and you would've blasted a hole in the wall!" I grinned.
"Yeah... I guess," Seto said, not really paying attention. His caramel brown orbs were locked dreamily on the tiny girl in his hand. A light blush dusted Tyra's cheeks as she gazed back with her lapis lazuli irises. Half of me thought 'Jeeeeeezusssssss, why they gotta be so "lovey dovey" all the time?', while the other thought 'Oh my gaw, dey're so cute!'
Seto and Tyra's relationship hasn't really been going on for too long, but I'm sure they've liked each other way before they started 'dating' or whatever. Their personalities are really similar, they are both quiet and reserved, but if you make them mad.... that's another story. But their lives were so different, you would never think they'd fall in love.
A little whimper brought me back to reality, directing my gaze to the miniature fox hybrid lying on the desk. Shudders ran through her quaking body, her furry ears pressed flat against her head in obvious pain. "Kay? Are you alright?" I asked the kitsune, gently taking her small form in my fingers and laying her in my palm.
She looked up at me slowly, craning her neck, "I-I-I'm f-f-fine," she quavered, clutching her head and squeezing her eyelids shut. "You don't look fine, what's wrong?" I inquired sympathetically, stroking her wilted ears with my fingertip.
Kay opened her eyes, her formerly blue irises glowing a sickening shade of green. Agonizingly gripping strands of her brown hair, her lungs emitted several sharp cries and soft whimpers. She was definitely in pain, but... why?
I didn't know what to do, or what was going on. "Seto! Something's happening!" I called to my sorcerer friend.
Seto immediately came back over to me, a look of alarm written on his face. "What's the matter?" he asked, eyeing Kay in concern. "I-I don't know..." I replied, watching Kay writhe and tremble in agony. "No! No more!" she screamed, shutting her tear-filled eyes once again. The flash changed to bright orange, casting right through her eyelids. Letting out a final yelp, the light subsided, and she blacked out in my hand.
'What the hell just happened?!'
