Chapter 30

Kay's POV

"Are you sure?" I asked, my tail flicking side to side with concern.

"He chased me all the way here!" Matrix scoffed. "Of course I'm sure."

"But... how did you manage to get through the barrier?"

She shrugged. "I'm not sure. I was going faster and faster, then BOOM. I'm in another dimension."

"Is he still after you?"

"I think... It'll wear off at some point... right?" Her expression changed to anxious and hopeful.

"Probably... So, the demons are getting worse? I thought you said they were under control."

She shook her head, "No, I said mine was more or less under control. His is insane."

My ears wilted from sadness, "You guys need to be careful, they could take your lives if you can't control them."

"Very true..." she replied.

My ears perked back up when I heard a noise above us. Before I could look up, something slammed me into the desk face-first. Blood squirted out my nose and my middle throbbed with pain. Matrix hissed and pounced at whatever fell on me, the weight taken off my back.

I heard a familiar scream and got up with my hand covering my bleeding nose. Matrix was pinning a startled and bruised Tyra down, one clawed hand aimed threateningly at her throat. "Who the hell are you?" she growled.

"W-wait! I'm sorry! I fell!" Tyra exclaimed, her breathing quickening.

Matrix gave her a suspicious look, "Oh really?"

If Seto catches her doing that, she's dead. I instantly sprang to my feet, "Trixie, wait! She's a friend! It was only an accident!" I exclaimed.

Matrix froze and looked up at me, folding her extended wings. Her gaze darted from me to Tyra to another pair of eyes staring at us from across the room. Brice confusedly glanced at the three of us, then slipped into the closet.

"Da da da, we're dead," I muttered, blood still dripping out my nose.

///3rd Peron POV///

Seto sat in the dim light of the closet, his eyes trailing across the pages of an old spellbook. The door creaked open and closed, light flooding in then dimming. "Um... Seto?" Brice said uncertainly.

"What?" Seto replied, his bored gaze remaining on his book.

"I think the girls got in a fight."

"Kay and Matrix?" Seto asked, unfazed.

"Uh.... well... not exactly..."

The sorcerer sighed, "What happened?"

"Um...... Tyra was kinda involved..."

Seto's head jerked up from his book, "WHAT?!"
