I think I'd been shopping for a few hours now. I found it weird because I never really went shopping back home, unless I was with my mom. And even if I was with my mom, I don't think we would have gone for this long.

The only things I bought were the dress, an iced coffee, and a bottle of pink AVON nail polish.

As I stepped outside of the mall, I felt a drop of liquid on my nose. I looked up and squinted my eyes at the sky. Grey clouds. Uh-oh. I looked back down and started to speed walk.

Dammit. I guess having a license would be pretty convenient.

I felt more drops on me and I started to sprint. I didn't care if my hair got wet, or if I stepped in a puddle, I cared that my new dress was not going to get ruined.

I was almost turning on to my street when a lightning bolt appeared on the sky. My eyes widened with fear. A crash of thunder bangs the earth. I run as fast as I can when I finally make it on my front porch. I reach for my keys in my pocket, but I don't feel them.

No, no, no this can't be happening. I checked all my other possible pockets twice and I looked through the glass on the door window to see my keys mocking me on the table.

Another blast of thunder comes and I whimper in fear. I wasn't really afraid of thunder storms, but if I was outdoors in them, it's a whole new story.

I saw a flash of lightning light up the sky that came with a downpour of rain. I felt a tear come on. How was I going to get into my house? I started to panic when a voice called out.

"Ahem...miss...do you need help?" Said a British accent.

I look around and see across the street a man who looks about my age wearing a black beanie, skinny jeans, and a Rolling Stones t-shirt.

Should I answer him? What if he wants to kidnap me? Oh gosh. Okay, calm down, just answer him.

"Umm... My keys... ah..." I sputtered out.

"Did you get locked out?" He basically has to yell across because the thunder rumbled once again- which did send tears down my cheeks.

"Yes" I whine out. I look up as a huge bolt of lighting appears. Water start coming down my face harder as I get prepared for the following thunder.

I'm glad I prepared because that was the worst one yet. It sounded like somebody went bowling, and they smashed the ball against the ground and got a strike too.

I cry out in fear and close my eyes and try to make it all go away. I don't want to be here anymore. I want to go home. My real home. With my safe mom. I am not prepared for the real world. Why did I even believe I was ready?

I jump as I feel arms wrap around me. I peel my eyes open and see it's the same person who was calling me a few minutes ago.

"Come with me babe," he says in a deep but comforting voice. I have no choice but to walk through the rain that soaks me head to toe. I am afraid of what is going to happen considering I never met him before and my mom said I shouldn't go into a mans home unless it's an emergency.

This is an emergency.
