My eyes cracked open. All my senses came back to me. I opened my eyes up wider and was about to have a panic attack when I saw I was in a hospital. Then I remembered why I was here. I was kidnapped and shot. I heard a cough and I let out a soar and quiet scream.
"Oh my gosh, Lola." I shot my head over to the chair next to my bed that I was on and I saw Marcus sitting there. He had red puffy eyes and it was pretty obvious he had been crying.
"Marcus, oh god, come here!" My raspy voice weakly spoke out. I motioned for him to come over to me and he did so. He leaned down and I leaned up to wrap my arms around his warm and safe body. I closed my eyes and wondered why I had to go through all of that. It was too crazy to believe. I gave Marcus a kiss and rested back on my pillow.
"Lola, what happened? The police wouldn't tell me any thing. I was scared to death! You don't even know." He asked and I knew I would have to tell him. He pulled the chair he was sitting on next to my bed.
"I have no idea why, but I was basically about to get raped." When I said that I saw Marcus stiffen up and I probably should've put it easier. "I forgot you moved, and so when I got to your old house, the guy who you beat up was there and I tried to get away but he," my throat choked up. "He threatened to shoot me. I was so afraid. And once I got in the house, he made me call you to tell you that I was going to be late."
"Then why didn't you?" Marcus interrupted. He had a concerned look the whole time and I wouldn't blame him. This must have been scarier for him than it was for me.
"Because I called the cops instead and pretended like it was you. Then he started to tell me to get undressed but luckily the cops showed up quick enough to stop that." I explained. Marcus was biting his lip and I swore it was about to start bleeding.
"And you got shot?" He added and I sadly nodded. I can't imagine how my mom was right now. Speaking of her, where was she? Maybe she was out finding me some private house on a private island surrounded with an electric fence and a thousand guards because that sounds like my mom.
"Where is my mom?" I asked Marcus and he looked away for a second and smirked a bit. I stared at him confused and wondered what was going on.
"I begged the police and hospital not to call your mom because I knew she was going to send you off away across the world and I didn't want you to go that quick Lola, please don't be mad." He slipped out in one long and quick sentence. I opened my mouth to yell at him but then shut it because I realized he only did it because he did it out of love.
"Thanks. But how am I supposed to pay the bill? I can't afford it!" I exclaimed looking worriedly at Marcus.
"Well, because it was a kidnapping incident, and if we leave the hospital today, it's completely free." Marcus informed me and I sighed in relief. A nurse walked in and I gave her a polite smile.
"So, we got your wound all bandaged up, and you are free to go when you want. Do you think you'll need crutches to walk?" The nurse asked me. I shook my head no and slowly threw my legs off the bed. I put power into standing up because my left leg was very weak, but Marcus was right by my side for support. I eventually got the hang of walking like that and I could easily transport myself from one place to another with a slight limp. Marcus offered to drive me to his new house and I nodded and asked him if he knew where my car was. Sadly, he didn't know so I asked if he could drive by his old house to see if it was still there. We checked and fortunately my car was still parked where I had left it so I drove to Marcus' present house. It was an apartment so we took the elevator up to his floor. We stepped off and went to his house. When I went in I felt the feeling that I got when I was with him. A joy and pleasant feeling. Marcus he fixed it up pretty well.
He had a grey couch with a coffee table and a flat screen. The kitchen was small but welcoming. He had most of the same furniture in his bedroom. I liked it a lot and I was glad he made it the way he did.
"Here, sit down and I'll get you some ice, or something." Marcus suggested. I nodded and sighed.
"Hey, what about all my stuff? My phone and wallet? Do the police have it?" I asked Marcus as he grabbed ice out of his freezer with a face cloth. He shook his head and handed me the icey towel. I told Marcus I would have to take off my jeans and he said he didn't care. I placed the ice on my wound and it stung for a second but felt fine after.
"You can stay here as long as you need too. I can put on Netflix and order a pizza or something right now if you want." He said and I told him that would be great. If Marcus wasn't my loving boyfriend, I don't know how I would survive. He is my life and my everything. I wouldn't give him up for anything.
