It's been a few weeks since Marcus moved in and it's been fantabulous. I also found a job at a Macy's near by. Meanwhile, my mom has been visiting and I have had to hide Marcus and act like I was still single. It was really hard, but I would do it for Marcus.
She had noticed his house was up for sale but she didn't really say much about it. I think if I keep Marcus for a little bit longer maybe I can show her that he isn't a bad person and he can be my boyfriend.
I also haven't harmed myself again since that one day. I'm really proud of myself for becoming more positive with my life. About Trevor, it was really hard to explain this big mess to him but he quickly understood. He wasn't really mad, but he said he did miss me and that he had to talk to me about something. I suggested we plan one day for me to visit him and Trevor thought that would be amazing.
I pushed my key into the front door and twisted it. I walked in and shut the door behind me, remembering to lock it. I put my purse on the table and heard Marcus in the bedroom. I strolled to the room and smiled when I saw him in there sitting on the bed. He put his phone down that he was texting on and held out his arms for me. I came over and hugged him and he kissed me on the cheek.
"How was work?" He asked.
"Good. Nothing exciting." I told him. I sat up against the headboard on the bed with him. I looked around the room looking for a topic to talk about when Marcus spoke up.
"Do you think that other people think we are weird for moving in with each other, even though we only have been dating for a month or so?" He explained. I bit the inside of my lip thinking of an answer. He does seem a bit right. I bet people do.
"Well, people would think it would be weird if everyday I drove to your house just to see you." He laughed quietly. Then he sighed.
"Do you want to live with me? Now I realized that I basically pulled you away from your life." I looked over at him. He looked at me and gave me a sad smile.
"I did, didn't I?" I stood up out of the bed. Marcus did too. I left the room in sadness because I am controlling Marcus once again. He had a job, a house, probably lots of friends. And he just left them all because of me.
"Lola, it's fine. I love you and that's why I'm here." He stopped me from dragging myself to the living room. I felt his touch on my shoulder and I spun around.
"You should go back. I'll be fine. I can help you." I decided and I smiled sadly at him. He opened his mouth to disagree but I hushed him with my finger and grinned. He raised an eyebrow.
"Please. You seem happier there. And I can see you like 3 times a week. And plus, I won't have to hide you from my mom. Hey! You could even move into my old house since yours already got bought- if you want." I looked down and kicked my foot around gently. Marcus lifter my chin up and looked me in the eyes.
"Are you sure?" He asked. I nodded giving him a big smile. He said okay, and we decided we would start packing after dinner. I went to kitchen and he went to the bedroom again. I opened the fridge and took out a frozen pizza, then I preheated the oven. I decided to go through some box that I never unpacked from the first time I moved into my first house. I literally pushed it off and kept the box in my closet. Now I have it here and I guess now I should look at it. The box was labeled "old stuff", named by me of course.
I placed it on the coffee table as I sat on the couch. I peeled the tape off the top of the box and opened it up. The first thing that caught my eye was my old MP3 player. I smiled as I picked it up and looked at all the songs I had. They were very old songs, but at the same time they were golden and brought back old times.
