I woke up to the sound of a humming boyfriend and I smiled at the smell of bacon in the air. I sat up and then a cross look appeared on my face. I don't have any food because I never went grocery shopping for bacon. Huh. Weird.

I slid my legs off the bed and put my pink long socks on. I quickly put my hair up in a messy bun. Really showing the 'messy' part out. I walk out of my bedroom and into the kitchen where the delightful smell of breakfast awaits.

"Good morning sunshine." Marcus said and smiled to me. I was impressed with what he had. There was a plate with blueberry pancakes, a bowl with fresh fruit, a container of orange juice, and now he was putting bacon onto a plate.

"Where did you get all of this...?" I asked confused.

"My house." He simply replied. My mouth gaped open. "Sit down." Marcus added as he pulled out a chair for me at the table.

"Thanks so much, I still need to go food shopping. Hey, what time is it?" I asked remembering we have a kid to babysit.

"It is a quarter to twelve." He answered and I started to freak out.

"What?! I only have 15 minutes to get ready! I'm gonna die. I can't eat breakfast!" I stood up but Marcus gently pushed my shoulders down so I was sitting again.

"Lola, I want you to chill and eat okay? Don't panic. We are gonna have lots of fun doing this. I promise. Now eat." He told me as he placed the food down. I was iffy on it, but I was starving so I sat and stuffed my face with food.

15 minutes later.

I was pacing back and forth around my living room while Marcus stared and shook his head.

"It's not that scary." He said reassuringly. I shook my head.

"It's a whole lot of responsibility. I don't even have a license! What if something happens?" I asked terrified.

Marcus walked over and stood In front of me. I smiled weakly and he put his hands on my shoulders. "You are going to do fine, license or not." I nodded.

A knock was heard on my door and my eyes widened with fear while Marcus was smiling with joy and excitement. I opened the door and saw a lady smiling with a young girl.

"Hi, so nice to meet you!" The woman spoke with enthusiasm.

"Hey, great to see you too! Hi Julie!" I waved to the small girl. She gave back a small smile and stepped closer to her mom.

"Okay so I will give you thirty dollars? Is that good?" She asked and I nodded. I searched my brain for her name. Ronda? Rylie?

"Okay thanks again! See you soon Julie!" She said and Julie walked in.

"Bye Rachel!" I said and fist pumped in my head that I remembered her name. I looked down at Julie who was looking around my house and up at me and Marcus. I kneeled down in front of her.

"Hi sweetie, what do you want to do? Play a game? Watch TV? Read a book?" I asked trying to get an answer out of her but she just shrugged and looked at her toes. I sighed and Marcus whispered in my ear, "Let her get used to you first," And I smiled at him. "Julie, why don't you sit at the table." He suggested and sat her at the table.

I walked over and started thinking that this day would be the perfect opportunity to see if Marcus would be a good father figure to my kids. If we get married. And even have kids.

"Want to play Candy Land?" Marcus asked her noticing I had it on a shelf. Julie nodded and he grabbed it as I took a seat at the table. I took out the board and set up the game. As I was preparing the gameplay, Marcus was trying to get Julie to say something.

"So Julie, how old are you?" he asked.

"Five." She answered in a small gentle voice that could barely be heard from a foot away.

"Wow! What a big girl you are." He exclaimed and that earned him a small grin from her.

"Okay Julie you go first." I told her to let her know we were playing. She picked up a card and moved a few spaces ahead. The game went on in silence until Marcus got a bad card and Julie and I laughed at him. We all started bonding very well and I was so happy that Marcus and me could actually succeed as parents. By the end of the game, Julie won and Marcus came in last, causing me and Julie to giggle more in his face.

"Ah whatever. This game is stinky." Marcus said and Julie laughed more. I smiled at his his humor. He was really adorable the whole time. It made my heart flutter because I remembered that this crazy, loving, amazing, person was mine.

We put on a Disney movie for Julie and I looked in my cabinets and fridge for food but I realized if I don't go food shopping soon I am going to starve to death. I grabbed a sticky note out of the drawer and a pen and wrote 'food shopping' and stuck it on my fridge. Then I walked over to my living room where Marcus and Julie were watching the movie and sat next to Marcus.

About an hour later when the movie was almost finished I noticed that Julie had fallen asleep cuddling one of my pillows on the couch. I smiled at her and looked at Marcus who was also was snoozing away. I shut off the movie and put on The Fault In Our Stars.

After lonely laughs and tears, Julie's mom came to pick her up. I sat back on the couch with Marcus who was still sleeping and put my face in front of his. I blew on his face but he just twitched and kept snoring. I licked his cheek and he blinked open his eyes a few times and made a disgusted face. I giggled at him as he rolled his eyes and cleaned off his cheek with his shirt. He smiled a bit and I bit my lip. He put his hand on my head and brought my lips to his. Before he kissed me he quietly said, "Your gross, but your my gross princess." I gasped sarcastically and leaned in to kiss him but instead licked his mouth and exploded in to a fit of giggles.

"Oh quit the games and kiss me." Marcus said and held my chin in his hand as we laid on the couch kissing gently. I felt sparks fly through my bones and I never in my life wanted to leave Marcus because he was my one and only.
