I stood in front of the mirror, my own smile scaring me as I thought about Kinn's rival, Vegas Theerapanyakun. The hold this man had on me was unbelievable. Even though it was just a crush, my feelings for him ran so deep that I never knew how I'd react around him. Partially, I was grateful that I'd never personally met him before.
But maybe that was why I was okay with Time cheating? Because even I didn't wholeheartedly love him...I mean I could see myself with Time, but he definitely doesn't make me happy...
Lost in my thoughts, I feel an arm wrap around my waist. I blink a few times before looking up into the mirror. Time. I smile halfheartedly.
Time was always a charmer. He always knew the right things to say and the right things to do to have you captivated. That's why he got away with cheating all the time, the moment you spoke to him, you'd have fallen into his trap...
Time wrapped his other arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. He leaned his chin on my shoulder and kissed my neck softly.
"You look beautiful, Tay," he spoke turning me around. Time held my chin and ran his thumb down my jawline. "Absolutely stunning..." he added bringing his face closer for a kiss.
I looked away. This time I didn't let myself get fooled. Maybe it was because I was angry at him for cheating. Or was it because I was thinking about Vegas and I couldn't get him out of my mind... whatever it was, I didn't want to be embraced or kissed by Time right now. My mind was on Vegas...
Just his name had my imagination running wild. I closed eyes momentarily, imagining Vegas' arm around me. Vegas close to me. This crush would get buried with me and I knew it...not a single soul could find out, but it didn't hurt to be secretly in love did it?
I attempted to loosen his grip and once I got free, walked towards the door. "Let's go. We can't be late..."
The bodyguards had already left, so we drove there well after Kinn had left home as well. I sat silently in the car, not even looking in the direction of Time. All I wondered was whether I'd see Vegas today... I scoff at my excitement. I'm so silly for being excited over this knowing full well nothing would happen.
We arrive and Time holds my hand as we walk into the venue. People stare. People always stare. It makes me self-conscious knowing that people were watching me...
I smile and greet everyone. I don't even know most of these people. And I know Time doesn't either but as they say, the show must go on.
It wasn't difficult to find Kinn in the crowd. Well, of course he was one of the few men here who decided to wear a bold colored suit. Red was easy to identify amongst all the black.
Kinn, with his legs crossed and swirling his whiskey in his hand, raised his eyebrows when he saw Time and I walk in his direction.
I noticed an unfamiliar person dressed in a white suit sitting next to Kinn. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get a clear view of him.
"Saved by the bell," I hear as we walk closer. The man in white stood up and brushed past me as he walked away.
We barely made eye contact but my heart was pounding in my chest. Vegas. It was Vegas...
