It has been a week since Tay last saw Vegas. Since he last spoke to the person he grew to love so much and it hurt. It hurt like hell.
This past week was filled with nothing but misery and pain as Tay spent each day moving from his bed to his living room and back to his bed. He did it all - he cried, he could barely sleep, he didn't want to eat, he was nauseous as hell and all his mind was on was Vegas. Vegas. Vegas. Vegas. It was the only thing he could see, hear and think about. It was the only thing he needed. If he could just see him, just for a split second, he would feel better...
Tay's father had regularly called as usual. This was nothing new, but trying to sound alright was something he wasn't used to. He tried to be as close to his usual self as possible and prayed his father didn't notice any changes in his behaviour.
To make matters worse, everything seemed to remind him of his last interaction with Vegas. That night when he got home, he was so angry and so hurt that he flung all his clothes on his bedroom floor before breaking down in the shower, trying to hide his tears between falling water. But since that night, he didn't have it in his heart to pick up the garments and so they laid there, untouched and neglected.
His nights weren't any better. Tay tossed and turned and often yelled into his pillow out of frustration. And those few hours he did manage to get some rest, he more often than not woke up with bloodshot eyes and tears dripping down his face.
He was so close to fleeing. He knew the second he was out that door, he was free and he would run anywhere his body could take him. Whether that was to Vegas or to his father or his mother's grave or far, far away from all this and across international borders. But leaving his apartment was just as difficult as it was to get Vegas to leave his mind. Kinn didn't trust Tay. Not a single bit. He didn't trust his friend to stay away from Vegas and he definitely didn't trust his cousin to stay away from Tay and so he made sure there were guards stationed outside every minute of the day to prevent any sort of encounter.
But despite the challenges he faced, after 4 days Tay finally realised what he wanted to do. He was hopeless and felt pathetic not having Vegas by his side. But he knew he was better than this. If he could get through being cheated on, he knew he could move forward from this even though this wasn't like any sort of pain he ever felt before.
Somehow Tay made peace with the fact that he would never ever love someone as truly and deeply as he loved the other. Vegas was different. Vegas was the man of his dreams and he just wanted to be grateful for the time they had together. Even though they were no longer a couple and would probably never be one again in this lifetime, he was still so lucky for the stolen moments their shared. Those were so precious to him. They were his everything...
But bearing this in mind, Tay knew that he needed to get far away from all of this. From Kinn, Time, Vegas - just Thailand in general. And so that was his game plan; he was going to spend some time abroad and far away from all of this.
Tay had spoke to his father and explored possible options to ensure that this was more than just some exceptionally long vacation and with much resistance he was introduced to the secondary branch of the business his father currently direction in the states. And that was enough for Tay to latch on and seize the opportunity. He was going to the United States of America indefinitely.
The remaining days of his week felt a little better. Tay felt more hopeful but the pain of never seeing Vegas again still overwhelmed him as he prepared for his next adventure. He packed his clothes, sorted out the documents with his father and the many meetings he had with his future co-workers helped distract him from his constant thoughts of Vegas.
