Daryl's POV
**5 months later**Today is Peyton's 6th birthday. Can't believe my baby girl is growing up so fast. In 2 months she'll be going to kindergarten and I won't get to see her all day.
We still live with Ashley but that's going to change soon. My old boss gave me my job back after hearing what had happened and he even gave me a raise. I've been saving up for an apartment or small house for me and Peyton.
Merle and Ashley got into it pretty bad one night a few months ago and much to Peyton's dismay, he now lives with one of our friends Gareth.
I don't know whether I was blinded by Ashley's beauty or she was that good of an actress but that bitch is insanely clingy. I mean fuck I can't even order food at a restaurant if it's a female waitress.
She doesn't know I'm planning on leaving. In Fact, I'm not even gonna tell her. One day when she comes home well just be gone.
Her threat still haunts me but I'm starting to think it was just so I won't leave her. I hope at least.
Right now I'm sitting at a tiny kids table about to sing happy birthday to my fastly growing daughter.
She begged me for a 'zombie' themed party since she now likes them and doesn't mind the dreams she has of them anymore.
She was very disappointed when I said no and wouldn't talk to me for the rest of the night.
"Happy birthday dear Peyton...... happy birthday to youuu" we all sang as she blew out all 6 of her blue birthday candles.
There was a pretty nice crowd here. Merle, his girl toy and her son Luke who Peyton claims is her boyfriend , Gareth, Shane, Kathryn, Mark, Some kid named Carl and his parents, another girl named Sophia her mom Carol.. she was actually kinda pretty compared to the other moms here, and loud annoying kids that I didn't even bother learning their names.
"Daddy I wanna open your present first" Peyton cheers and wraps her arms around her neck and I pick her up, leading her to the table filled with presents wrapped in all different kinds of wrapping paper.
I pick out mine, they were wrapped in pink camo wrapping paper.
She brings them in the living room and sits on the floor, everyone circling around her.
She starts to open the box and squeals happily when she sees the contents. It was some kind of truck that she kept begging me for every time we went to the store.
"Thanks daddy!" She says and runs over and hugs me tightly.
"There's more" I say and grab her hand, leading her outside to the garage where her unwrap-able present was.
I open the door for her and she runs into the garage. "Yay!!" She cheers when she sees a blue bike sitting in the middle of the garage.
"You're the best daddy!" She says and hugs me again. I lift her up and carry her back inside. She was holding onto my neck tightly the hold time causing me to smile.
She finished opening everyone else's gifts except Merles.
"Here ya go kiddo" Merle says while handing her a long skinny box that was lazily wrapped. Mine looked shitty but it still looked better than Merles.
She tears the paper off (which wasn't hard since it was already falling off) inside was a Daiseys Red Ryder BB gun with a huge can of bb's.
I glare at Merle, not happy that he bought it without asking. It's not like I would've said no but still.
