The next day, Isla came downstairs to Rebekah cleaning the carpet and Klaus reading a book of poems.
"Poetry about poisoned apples from dead trees." Rebekah remarked as she scrubbed blood. "Looks like someone's worried about impending daddy hood." Klaus shook his head, flipping the page.
"Nonsense. Elijah is back. In his presence, all problems turn to pixie dust and float away." Rebekah rolled her eyes and went back to cleaning.
"Strange." Isla turned her head to see Elijah walking into the room. "I don't recall any pixie dust from the darkness of the coffin I was recently forced to endure." He opened Esther's grimoire on the table behind the couch. Klaus went back to his book, but Isla and Rebekah noticed the grimoire.
"What are you doing with mother's spell book?" Rebekah asked. Elijah ripped a couple of pages out of the book.
"Well, in exchange for my freedom, I promised the witch Davina that I would share a few pages from mother's grimoire." Isla walked over to the book and flipped to the page that contained the memory spell she told Elijah about. Elijah nodded, ripping that page out as well. "It'll help her learn to control her magic. Thought we'd begin with an unlinking spell." Rebekah and Klaus looked at each other, then back to Elijah.
"Wait, you want to use her to unlink Hayley from Sophie Deveraux?" Elijah nodded.
"Sophie brought us to this town under false pretenses. She doesn't just want us to take down Marcel and his minions. She wants to take Davina back. So she yoked her own cause to ours with magic, threats, and half-truths. Well, no more. As of now our deal with Sophie Deveraux is null and void." Klaus smiled. "Niklaus, I need you to come with me. I need five minutes alone with Davina. You need to make certain I am not interrupted." He turned to Rebekah and Isla. "You two stay here and watch Hayley." Rebekah sighed.
"How did I get elected Supernanny?" Klaus stood up.
"More importantly, who put him in charge?" He followed Elijah out of the room. Isla looked at Rebekah, who looked very annoyed.
After a while, Isla heard a gasp coming from the next room. She followed the sound to find Hayley looking at her hand, which had a little blood on it.
"What the hell was that?" Rebekah asked, walking into the room. Hayley shook her head. As Isla got closer, she noticed there was blood on her neck, but no mark.
"Hell if I know. I felt like I was being stabbed." She looked at Rebekah, then at Isla. Rebekah got Hayley to sit down, then went to go get her food.
"It's time for the demon spawn to snack." Rebekah came in carrying a bowl of apples. Hayley sighed.
"I really wish you wouldn't call her that." Isla quickly ran over and grabbed an apple from the bowl before Rebekah could stop her.
"I'm sorry, have you picked another name yet?" She held out the bowl. "Take one. The plantation is lousy with them." Hayley grabbed an apple. "How's your neck?" The pregnant werewolf shrugged.
"I feel fine, which is weird. I'm sure this is Sophie related." Isla took a bite out of her apple as Rebekah sat down.
"Well, do me a favor and don't die on my watch. I'll never hear the end of it." Hayley chuckled.
"You know, when I first met you I thought you were a real bitch." Rebekah smiled.
"What changed your mind?" She asked.
"Oh, I still think you're a bitch." Hayley responded. "I've just... grown to like that about you." Isla laughed, taking another bite out of the apple.
"Well, that's sweet of you to say." Rebekah remarked. "Remember it when I'm gone." Hayley raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Gone? Where are you going?" Rebekah sighed.
"I only came to town to make sure everything was okay with Elijah. He's fine, and he hasn't punished Klaus for daggering him, so as usual, they'll be thick as thieves, and I'll be left to clean up the mess. It's time for me to fly the coop." Hayley looked disappointed.
"Oh." She went to go take a bite out of her apple, but then paused. She closed her eyes.
"What's wrong?" Rebekah asked and Hayley brushed it off.
"I don't know. Probably morning sickness." Isla stood up. Rebekah brought her hand to Hayley's forehead to check her temperature.
"Oh, you're burning up, actually."
