Within five minutes of Kai leaving, Isla felt that this situation was too personal for her to be here. Tyler had left a long time ago, and Kai didn't seem to need anyone else there. She also didn't want to see conflict between siblings. If she really wanted to see this, she would have gone back to New Orleans.

Back at the hotel, Isla figured that this was a good time to check in with her siblings and see how the Esther problem was going. She picked up her phone and decided to call Elijah. Over the course of the phone call, she learned that Elijah had been taken by their mother and tormented with his memories. Luckily, Klaus came to the rescue, after apparently seeing Mikael again, who had come back from the dead. He was kind of in a mood because Hayley was dating another werewolf and they were trying to figure out a way to get the werewolves free from Esther. They were still trying to figure out how to take Esther down. Isla felt a bit guilty. Here she was, figuring out her relationship with a sociopath, meanwhile her siblings were fighting for their lives.

Isla set her phone down on the bed with a sigh. Maybe she should head back to help her family. They haven't made any progress on getting Bonnie back, and with three Gemini witches in the area, Isla didn't exactly feel needed. She and Damon weren't even talking that much with his attention on stopping Kai and getting Elena back.

She debated whether or not to go back to New Orleans for the next couple hours. Right when she was about to get her suitcase out, there was a knock at the door.

"Isla?" It was Kai's voice on the other end. He sounded a bit jumpy, a bit energetic. She had no idea what he had been doing for the past few hours but he sounded really chipper. Standing up from the bed, she went over to the door and opened it.

"Hi." The words were barely past her lips when Kai brushed past her to sit on the foot of the bed. "What's going on? You look a little jumpy." Kai chuckled.

"You know the anti-magic barrier in Mystic Falls?" Isla tilted her head, confused.

"Yeah? What about it?" Kai grinned, looking very proud of himself.

"I absorbed the magic. All of it." Her eyes widened. That was a lot of magic, and for Kai to absorb it all...

"Well, how do you feel?" Kai looked around the hotel, then back at her.

"I feel great." He looked down at his hand, which was lying on the bed a few inches away from Isla's hand. In the span of a few seconds, he had moved his hand on top of hers to rub across her knuckles with his thumb. "Like, really great." Looking back up at Isla, he smirked. Isla's face ran hot. He was giving her butterflies, which shouldn't still be happening, but she was enjoying it.

Fueled by the energy in the room, she grabbed his shirt with both of her hands and lunged forward. Kai met her energy and kissed back with equal fervor. Using her momentum, she swung a leg over his thighs to straddle him while they kissed.

"We only have a little bit of time for this." Kai breathed out, whispering against her lips. "So we have to make this quick." He moved his hands to her hips and gripped tight. It seemed like he was trying to hold back from something.

"Okay, then stop talking and let's do this." Isla responded, moving her head to start kissing at his neck. Kai chuckled.

"Oh, you're going to be the death of me, Isla." Isla noticed the objects in the room started to blow around, almost like there's a wind gust in the hotel room. She quickly dismissed it when Kai spoke, moving her face back up to hold eye contact as she pushed him down to the bed.

"What did I say about talking?"

After they were finished, Kai started getting ready to leave.

"Where are you going?" Isla asked, still in bed. Kai sighed.

"I have to run an errand in preparation for this merge. And I have to use some of this magic so something like this..." He gestured to the mess of clutter and furniture around the room. "Doesn't happen again." Isla chuckled.

"And what if I said that I liked it." Kai shot her a look, which made her laugh harder. He jogged over to give her a quick peck before leaving.

"I'll be back, and then we can pick up where we left off." He winked at her as he was closing the door, leaving Isla alone. She definitely felt a bit conflicted. She enjoyed being around Kai again. The sex, the conversations, the feeling she gets every time she's near him. But on the other hand, he was hurting so many people that she considered friends. He killed his siblings and was actively trying to kill at least one of the other three. She should not like him this much.

And yet, here she is. In bed, absolutely grinning at the idea of spending more time with him.

Maybe she won't go back to New Orleans just yet.
