Isla sat on the couch next to Rebekah as Hayley spoke to Agnes behind us.
"I told you, Agnes. I feel great." The pregnant werewolf said. Agnes folded her arms.
"You are overdue for a checkup." Hayley looked up from her hands.
"What am I gonna do, pop into the quarter for a quick ultrasound? A pregnant werewolf escorted by a witch? Nothing to see here." Rebekah rolled her eyes, keeping her focus on the table.
"A lot of women would kill to have a child. Strikes me as odd that you're not taking better care of yours." She resumed typing and Isla looked over her shoulder at Hayley. Agnes sighed.
"I know a doctor out in the bayou off the beaten path." Hayley turned her gaze to the witch. "Now I took the liberty of making an appointment fir you tonight, after hours, just us. Vampires will never get word of it." Hayley looked around, thinking about what Agnes said. After a few seconds of thinking, Hayley responded
"Okay. Fine." She put her book down on the coffee table. "Bayou baby doctor it is." She and Agnes both got up and left the room. Isla turned her focus back to Rebekah and her laptop. Rebekah had pulled up a map of New Orleans that focused on the French Quarter.
"What are you looking for?" Isla asked her older sister, and Rebekah stayed silent.
"Please, sister, tell me you're not still at it with the internet search." Klaus remarked as he entered the room. "How does one begin anyway, just type in 'anonymous attic'?" Rebekah sighed.
"Someone has to find Elijah, even if I have to search every bloody attic in New Orleans." Klaus turned around, smirking.
"Like looking for a needle in a rather large pile of needles." Isla picked up the pillow next to her and chucked it behind her. Klaus simply caught it and dropped it to the ground, chuckling.
"I remember details about the attic Marcel took me to. There were shutters on the windows behind Elijah's coffin." Klaus walked over to the couch with a drink in his hand.
"Well, that should narrow it down immensely. Myself, I prefer actual strategy as opposed to mind-numbing labor." He sat down in one of the chairs across from the couch. "Marcel's delay in returning our brother makes me suspect he's no longer in charge of the situation." This sentence caught Rebekah's interest as she looked up from the computer. "If Davina's loyalty to Marcel is strained, perhaps the young witch will be open to discussing a new alliance." Rebekah faked a smile, then dropped it almost immediately.
"As usual, your power grabs are more important than rescuing your brother." Klaus looked down at the ground.
"I prefer to think of it as killing two birds with one stone. Rob Marcel of his secret weapon, bring our brother home." He looked over at Isla. "And I'll need your help with this one."
That night, Isla stood on the street of the French Quarter. She was supposed to be keeping an eye out for Davina to make sure everything worked, although she had no idea what the girl looked like. All she knew was what Marcel looked like.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Marcel walk out of Rousseau's. Isla folded her arms. This most likely meant that the girl was inside. Sighing, she walked in.
Inside, a band was playing. There was a crowd, so Isla had to navigate her way through to the bar.
After the band finished their set, Isla spotted Klaus talking to a blonde, and then the blonde called out
"Davina." Isla perked up at the name, and carefully followed the blonde out of the bar. When the blonde got to the church, Isla she had completed her part of the plan. Luckily, nothing happened, so Isla didn't have to do much. Slowly, she opened the door to the church and went inside.
Inside, she saw her brother talking to a brunette girl she assumed was Davina. The boy from the band was sitting in the pews. As Klaus turned around, Isla hid behind a pillar.
"If Marcel could do that, why hasn't he done so already. And it does beg the question, if Marcel can't protect you, then what of those you care about?" He pointed to the boy. Isla silently facepalmed. Of course this would involve violence. Davina frowned.
"If anyone tries to hurt anyone I care about, I'll kill them." Klaus smiled.
"Well, then. Sounds like you don't need Marcel at all." Isla watched the girl's face drop. "Perhaps you've suspected it all along. Your dear friend Marcel tricks you into doing his bidding, and all the while, you rot in an attic alone while young Timothy moves on with his life." Davina stepped closer, looking angry.
"You feel that?" She asked. "That's your blood starting to boil." Klaus shakily brought a hand up to his head. After a second, he ran over and grabbed the boy, holding him in a headlock.
"Such a shame to lose him just as you found him again" He looked at the boy. "and I really did admire your skill with the violin." Davina pleaded with Klaus.
"Don't you dare hurt him." Klaus looked back up at her.
"Well I hope I won't have to, sweetheart, but then that depends on you." The girl narrowed her eyes.
"Let him go now." As they were arguing, Isla got to work putting a barrier spell on the door so that Marcel couldn't enter the church. A snapping noise diverted her attention from the spell and she looked back to see Davina breaking Klaus's legs. Klaus healed his legs just as fast.
"Impressive, but you don't want to fight me, love. Innocent people have a way of winding up dead." The boy murmured something, then Klaus spoke again. "Your choice, little witch. Swear allegiance to me alone and the boy lives." The flames on the candles grew higher. Isla's eyes widened. This was not going to end well. "Stand against me..." The wind picked up. Davina was seething with rage. She pushed her hands forward and yelled, sending Klaus flying back. The windows in the church broke, and Isla held her hands over her face to keep from getting hit.
Davina got up and ran over to the door. However, she was stopped by a magical barrier. Davina looked confused. Isla sighed, annoyed with her siblings, and took the spell down. Davina looked around to see if there was anyone else in the building, then ran off. Isla stepped out from the pillar to see Klaus on the second story, on the phone.
"What do you mean she's missing?" He paused. "Keep looking. I'm on my way." He then grabbed the boy. Next thing Isla knew, he threw the boy off the balcony. He threw the boy's violin after him. Isla walked over to him, looking at his injuries. She was going to try to perform a healing spell, but Klaus interrupted her. "Not yet. We have to wait for Davina to come back." Isla threw her hands up in frustration.
"What am I even still doing here?" Klaus sighed.
"Isla, I really don't have time for this. You've done what I asked you to. Just go home." Isla scoffed, turning around and leaving the church. As she left, she passed Davina, and in her annoyance, she didn't notice the girl had seen her leave the church.
