Jett's POV

Poppy is happy to have all the blood she could wish for.

It's not normal for us to just feed any random vampire but I guess since Zoey cares about her so much, she's fallen under our wing and we will teach her everything. Hopefully she's not like Wyatt, if we have two vampires controlled so easily by blood lust, it'll be hell.

"Why am I like this?" She breathes heavily between sips of the blood bag, sitting on the concrete floor.

"Tell me what you remember." Nik ignores her question, asking his own instead.

"We walked into the house, I was stumbling around because my foot was burned pretty bad," she looks at her foot and removes the bandages quickly, "it's gone. It was just here, I swear!"

I kneel in front of her, "your going to heal quicker than a human can now. It's normal."

She scoffs, "normal?" Her eyebrows scrunch, "how is any of this normal?"

"Watch your tone." Nik warns her, watching her cower slightly and sip on more of the blood.

"I'm scared." She admits, laying her seventh empty bag on the floor.

Her eyes have returned to normal after the fifth blood bag but we let her continue to eat as much as she wanted since we have a human in the house.

"We will teach you everything you need to know." Nik tells her, "you'll be staying down here, chained to the wall until we can trust you."

"Trust me? You kidnapped me!"

I can't contain my laugh, not caring about her bullet stare

"We didn't kidnap you, Zoey called us for help. So here we are." Nik informs her.

She doesn't remember trying to obliterate Zoey in the car.

Memories from when I was converted pop into my mind. I didn't remember anything when I first woke up, only years after did I finally find out what happened. I slaughtered multiple people, leaving a blood trail wherever I went. Luckily, investigators and police weren't as good back in the eighteen hundreds as they are now.

"Zoey? Where is she?" She looks around, trying to spot her friend until her eyes fall back onto Nik, "you're her boyfriend?" She asks.

Jealousy consumes me until Nik corrects her mistake, "we are."

The back of her head hits the wall she's leaning against, "can I see her?"

I shake my head as soon as the question leaves her lips, "it's not safe yet." I tell her instead of explaining what she did to Zoey in the car.

"Not safe? Why isn't it safe?" She rolls her eyes, as if I'm not just as annoyed as she is.

I hear the faint sound of a shower turning on, making me wonder if her enhanced hearing has kicked in yet.

"Because you decided to try to feed from her on the way here. Once you're chained up, we will let you see her from the door but she isn't allowed in." Nik tells her.

"I didn't hurt her...did I?" I shake my head immediately, trying to put Zoey's friend at ease.

I hate newborns, but I have to at least try to like her for Zoey's sake.

They're just so needy, stupid, and teaching them about this new lifestyle they'll have to live takes for fucking ever.

As she keeps asking questions, I hook her up to the chains. Her strength won't kick in for a few days, for now she will feel fatigue, borderline flu like.
