15. Cancer

Me and conrad were still hugging and I don't know why but I started crying not a lot though just a few tears. We pulled back and that is when I noticed that conrad was also crying.

"Conrad" I say with a sad tone

"I'm sorry" he sniffles "I just couldn't imagine losing my best friend you know especially with what's going on right now" he says his voice breaking at the end

"Wait, what do you mean by "especially with what's going on right now"?" I ask puzzled

"Shit. Shit. Shit. I wasn't supposed say anything " conrad whispers looking down

"Conrad what's going on" I say holding his hand

He looks up at me "y/n, my mom," he sniffles "she um...she has cancer again and this time it can't go away" he says with tears streaming down his face

"Wha-what ar-are you serious " I say not wanting to believe the words that came out of his mouth

He nods. I pull him into a hug which consists of both of us crying. I choke on my sobs and he does too. I can't believe it, the person that was like a mom to me isn't going to live that long, I just want her to be alive until I get married i just want her and Laurel to walk me down the isle, I just wanted the two people that have been the most parent like towards me to be there for the big day, and I especially wanted Susannah to be there because we would talk about this with each other SHE told me she would, she promised.

"Y/n" he croaked out

"Yeah" I say pulling away

"Don't tell anyone only me, you, mom, and Laurel know. And they didn't even know I knew"

"How long have you known"

"3 months.."

"conrad, why didn't you tell me sooner"

"I didn't want to hurt you, I know how close you guys are and how she's like a mom to you I just didn't want to ruin that for you"

I went in and gave him a quick hug. When we pulled away I looked at the time 12:14 pm. There's no way we talked for that long.

"Hey y/n"

"Yeah"

"Can I spend the night in your room?"

"Yeah of course"

"Thanks, I'm gonna go get changed"

"Alright"
