One thing was clear from then, on, the end of times (or Armageddon, as they like to call it), came to the Inkwell Isles. Me and the guys had to retreat to the seemingly only safe place on the Island, even if it seemed unlikely at the time: The casino. But first, we had to regroup every citizen of Inkwell and bring them to safety. It was most dangerous, filled with destruction, and chaos everywhere. This wasn't the Inkwell, I knew and loved.
"Yeesh, I never knew Inkwell would look like this in Armageddon..." Dice scoffed in admiration. "And I was thinking you, Big D, was the one to start it..."
I looked at him, curiously.
"Dad, I have a question to ask."
Daddy Devil jumped quickly into assumptions, about what I was going to say.
" Sorry, Cocoa Bean, we can't start with the woods, it isn't safe," Lucifer replied as he placed his hands on my shoulder.
"Not that..." I replied, " Did I bring this upon ourselves...?"
The answer to my question remained ambiguous for now, as I felt the calming touch of Cuphead's hand, together, with Cuphead, Mugman, Chalice, King Dice, and of course, the Devil, we managed to take perilous trips across the four Islands of Inkwell to get everyone safe.
Cuphead, Mugman, Chalice, and my fathers, knew the citizens well, but the only positive experience of the whole armageddon debacle, was that I got to reunite and meet with some old and new friends. It seems like all of us were here.... yet someone was missing, we had people from earth, skies, spirits, and fire, but we didn't get someone from the seas yet. There was only that could possibly be out at sea at this hour.
"Oh, no, Cala!" Mugman, screamed, as his china cracked. "I gotta go to her!" He turned to me to ask me for appeal.
"Cocoa!" He said, queuing me.
"Say no more, Mugsy!" I said, scooping him up and taking off before anyone could even think of stopping me.
We flew across the blood-red sky, in search of the former sea beast, but there was no sign of her anywhere, Mugman was growing even more anxious and worried, and I was about to accept the fact that she could be lost, or worst case scenario: she could be dead. But Mugman wasn't going to give up on his beloved sea lady just like that! After much thought, he had a plan.
"Do you still have your violin?" Mugman asked, "just to let Maria know we came for her."
With a nod of conformation, I summoned my violin and bow.
" Way ahead-a you Mugs."
I stood in position, and with a signaling nod from the future marine biologist of Inkwell, I started playing...
The song was called: Greensleeves. An old Celtic classic that's about impossible love, and the unquenchable desire to be with their said lover, despite being out of reach. I've played my violin on a few occasions during my adventures, but this time something happened: Purple rays, of light, shot out of that instrument, and everyone in the island could hear it, including the one person we were expecting, I was so focused on my music, that I didn't notice the bubbles foaming on the surface.
"Cocoa," Mugman shouted, tugging my sleeve," It's working."
When Cala Maria rose out of the ocean, it is clear that she paid no mind to the fact the world was ending, but the fact that she saw us again.
