I can't help falling in love with you.

It was game day, per usual Layla was getting ready and making me do her hair.

She always used the same excuse as to why she couldn't do it herself.

"I can't braid my own hair! It's hard!"

I didn't mind doing her hair, I actually liked it.

Today we were joined by Julie.

"I can't braid at all, it's not even funny." Julie said laying on my bed throwing a baseball up and catching it again.

"Shouldn't you be with the your team?" Layla asked.

"Yeah, but y/n and me are going to the same place, it's not that big of a deal."

I smiled as I finished Laylas hair.

"It looks amazing! Now do Julie's." Layla commanded.

"Why do I have to do everyone's hair? Can't you do it since it's not your own hair?"

"No, Julie and I need to match. Right Julie?"

"Whatever you want Layla." Julie groaned sitting up.

I sighed and Julie sat in front of me.

"You know y/n, Benny acts like he didn't really miss you but he definitely did."

I smiled.

"Like he found your paper and completely freaked out."

"Really?" Layla asked.

Julie looked over at Layla and I had to move her head to look straight ahead again.

"Yeah."

"Layla, under my bed should be a box can you get it out?" I asked.

Layla got the box and opened it.

Her face was completely shocked.

"Y/n! I didn't know you kept it!" She pulled out Bennys old jersey.

Julie got up and grabbed it to look at it.

I let out an exaggerated sigh.

"Sorry! I just didn't think you would've kept it!"

I walked over and pulled more out of the box.

One of the things being a photo of the whole sandlot.

"Woah, I remember this!" Julie said looking at it.

There was also a baseball signed by Benny.

He had given it to me as a present when we first started going out.

He always told me he wanted me to have his first signed baseball, in case he became famous.

There were a lot of things in that box I didn't even remember existed.

I checked the time to see we were running late.

"We need to go." I said hurrying to put on the rest of my baseball uniform except my shoes.

-

"Come on Benny! You can't be serious." Mickey crossed his arms.

I had been acting like a fool.

She was just...everything I could ever want.

"Benny! dude! You've let them score on us three times!"

The truth was, I couldn't stop staring at her.

It was effecting everything, I was totally off!

I couldn't play like this! It was like she put a spell on me!

I ran into the dugout and handed my glove to smalls.

He seemed panicked.

"Benny, I can't- you can't just-"

"You'll do great smalls!" I ran out of the dugout.

I had to escape her, I needed to get these dumb butterflies out of my stomach, they seemed to be running my body, I could feel them everywhere.

I sat at the park in the middle of the main street town for a while.

Loving someone so much and forgetting the feelings was difficult to remember.

Had she always made me feel like this?

Why was I such a dweeb now?

How had I let a girl do this to me?!

Then I came to my senses.

I knew exactly how I let her do this to me.

Over the time that u didn't see her I had put her on some sorta pedestal, one where it was like I was meeting the great bambino!

But even then, I think I'd be calmer then, no, she was higher then Babe Ruth.

I felt someone push my hat down on my face and then sit next to me.

"You really made smalls talk your place?"

I sighed and lifted up my hat.

There she was, with the most beautiful face I'd ever seen.

She might've changed a lot about her appearance but she was still so addicting to look at.

"What? You don't talk anymore?" She laughed.

I just smiled at the ground.

"Hellooooo?"

I then looked at her with the smile.

God, she really was perfect, the exact definition.

She laughed and lightly punched my arm.

"Your starting to creep me out."

She gave me a weird look but smiled with it.

I then grabbed her hand and just held it.

She laughed but didn't fight it.

Even her laugh was perfect.

I looked up into the sky and noticed a cloud that looked just like a duck.

I laughed lightly and y/n looked at me like I was crazy.

"The clouds are so nice." I said still looking at then.

She gave me a weird look.

"Benny are you okay? Should I call someone to help you?"

"I'm fine, I just really like the clouds."

"I like them because they're always so happy looking and they're always beautiful, they might not be perfect to anyone else but they're perfect to me."

I realized I was rambling on and turned to see y/n looking at the sky.

"I don't know Benny man, I think they all look like clouds."

For a moment, time seemed to stop.

If I could save any moment from my life, I think I'd pick then.

The moment I realized I really was in love with y/n. The girl I had known as Kay, the girl who I knew right then I was willing to give everything up for.
