Lisa's appeal had actually been granted. After successfully catching and arresting Lee Gong-Wook, aka the Dutchman, the FBI made Lisa an official consultant under Agent Jennie Kim's custody. She was wearing the anklet and she was confined to her two-mile radius but she was out of prison. And for the rest of her sentence, she'd be Jennie's official CI, catching bad guys. As long as she behaved, that was.
No more running.
With every case they worked on, they got to know each other better. Jennie had realized quite quickly that they were a good team work-wise but after a month of seeing each other every day, Lisa had become something along the lines of a friend to her. Even outside of work. They talked more and more about personal stuff and opened up to each other. Lisa got along with Jisoo as well and to Jisoo's horror, Lisa got along even better with her wife Rosie, who insisted on inviting Lisa to brunch at their place almost every sunday morning.
The former art thief liked working with the agents. Every day was different and exciting. It was fun. It was so much better than prison. But there were still things she didn't tell Jennie. She had successfully gotten out of introducing Bambam to her handler and she planned on keeping her friend off the Fed's radar for as long as she could.
"What do we got today?" Lisa asked Jennie when they met on the streets of Seoul within Lisa's radius. The CI had made it a habit to bring Jennie a cup of coffee from her new favourite shop around the corner from her apartment every morning.
She handed the reusable cup over to Jennie who took it with a happy little smile. "Thanks. I really need this today."
Lisa heard the slight implication and couldn't help but prod. "Killer weekend?"
Jennie took a grateful sip and then focused her eyes on Lisa while they walked down the street together. "Highschool reunion..." She told her. "was fucking awful."
"Why? Were you not voted 'still the hottest over 30'" Lisa cackled but her glinting eyes had an air of light flirtation about them. Jennie was kind of used to it by now. Lisa was just naturally flirty. And into women. And with the time they spent together all day, Jennie was the prime target of Lisa's little lines and she knew how to take them. Lisa never said anything completely inappropriate anyway. Most of it was just flattery and silly banter.
"Don't need a vote for that." Jennie sassed back with a little grin of her own before she got serious again. "No, it was... I don't know... everyone flashed their engagement rings or their wedding rings and successful spouses, or photos of their prodigy kids or new babies... and I was there on my own, like a looser and all I had to flash was my badge."
"And they were not impressed by that?" Lisa snickered sarcastically.
"No, the new Moms and Wifes were not impressed by a 32-year-old single FBI Agent."
"They live completely different lifes than you. You like your badge and your gun, don't you?" Lisa tried to be soft, making Jennie feel better.
"Yeah, of course I do. And I don't yearn for a kid or something, but... like... a partner would be nice sometimes..."
"Why didn't you just lie? You could have told them you were dating a very hot ex art thief."
Jennie gave her an amused but stern look. "Meaning you?"
"Yeah, so what? Mix it up a little. Besides, with all the time we're spending together anyway, we might as well be dating." Lisa smirked at Jennie when the latter kept her eyes on her.
"Very funny." Jennie snorted but deep inside of her something jumped at Lisa's suggestion of them dating. Jennie wasn't a stranger to being attracted to women, but she had never actually dated one. All the bi-experience she ever got, were a couple of make-outs at college parties.
