27 Undercover Date night

"So what are we thinking?" Haein asked into the room. It was him, Jisoo, Lisa and a couple of lower ranking agents, walking around the big conference table at the bureau that was scattered with all of Chun Ho Jin's carefully collected evidence. They needed to go over the facts again and formulate a plan before Lisa could go in on her undercover date with Diana.

Since Jisoo was the case agent on this one, she was the one leading the investigation too. The dark-haired agent had offered for Jennie to take over the case as soon as she was back from her leave but Jennie had denied. She knew that Jisoo was dying to get the title of Special Agent, along with the promotion it would ensure. And she wanted her friend to have the opportunity to grow.

Jennie wouldn't exactly sit this one out but she'd just be a lot more passive on decisions. Hence why she wasn't present for the briefing today. Lisa was kind of glad about the fact that it was Jisoo she had to tell about her 'date' and not Jennie.

"Do we think she killed her husband?" Jisoo looked at Lisa who looked back sternly and shook her head.

"No. I don't think there's so much as one malicious bone in Diana's body. She didn't marry for money and she sure as hell didn't kill for it. She seems lonely. That's all."

Jisoo nodded slowly and consulted the evidence on the table again, moving around pictures with her fingers. "Somebody wants that money and if it's not Diana herself, we have to look at her surroundings"

"What about the business partner? JYP?" Haein suggested. 

"JYP? Are we really calling him that now?" Jisoo asked back, grimassing. She hated people who went by stupid abreviations of their names and expected everyone to know about it and not address them incorrectly.

"That's what he's known as. Nobody says his whole name, ever. Even the press call him JYP." He just shrugged.

"Diana did too yesterday." Lisa corroborated him with a shrug. "Anyway, what about him? What are you thinking Jung?"

"I don't know... just look at the PI pictures from the funeral. In the beginning he's there. He's trying to talk to Diana but she's not having it. And after she leaves prematurely, JYP is nowhere to be seen..."

"You think he's the one behind the kidnapping" Jisoo mulled it over, looking at the pictures as well. 

"Could be." Lisa leaned over Jisoo's shoulder. "She's the one getting the life insurance payout and the majority of the company shares. JYP see's absolutely non of that money. Plus, the way Diana talks, she is not interested in the business. She's not that kind of person."

"JYP has tried to buy out Mr. Flipo several times, claiming wanting to make his partner's transition into retirement easier. He wants the business for himself but Mr. Flipo never caved." Haein provided, reading off FBI files.

Jisoo paced back and forth, listening to them both. "What if he tried to do the same to Diana? Making her sell her shares but she doesn't want her late husband's work to go to JYP?" 

Lisa nodded along. "So then, he resorts to seducing her but she's not having that either."

"so he kidnaps her to blackmail her into giving him everything in exchange for her life."
