When Lisa got home after a quick briefing with the whole team about the proceeding of the investigation, her phone vibrated. She looked down at it just when she walked through her door. For a second the con-woman's heart stuttered hopefully but when she read the name on the notification her stomach fell in disappointment. It wasn't Jennie texting. It was Diana.
Undercover Lisa had smoothly asked for the woman's number and had gotten it. Getting a text from a beautiful woman, who Lisa knew would return her affections usually felt a lot different. But no matter how beautiful Diana was, she wasn't the one who Lisa wanted to reciprocate her affections.
Agent Jennie Kim had taken up residence in Lisa's head and there simply was no space for anyone else. Also, whatever she had struck up with Diana, it wasn't real. It was undercover work. Lisa felt somewhat bad for leading the young widow on but she rather break the woman's heart than have someone else harm her for real. Because Lisa still couldn't shake the feeling that Diana was the one needing protection instead of interrogation. If Diana really killed her husband, she had to be a better actress or even con-artist than Lisa. And the blonde woman simply didn't think so. Diana had seemed so real. Everything she told Lisa came from the heart. She wasn't acting. And she certainly wasn't in this for the money. Nor had she married for money to begin with. Lisa could tell.
The con-woman glanced down at her phone to read the message.
Diana: It's been a while since I've enjoyed someone's company as much as I have today. I know this is terribly forward, but would you like to come over for dinner at my place tomorrow? -Diana
Lisa swallowed hard. A dinner invite. This was a date. At least in Diana's books it had to be. The con-woman sighed audibly.
"What are you sighing about?"
Lisa almost jumped. She hadn't been aware of Bambam invading her space once again with a full glass of wine on her couch.
"Fuck, Bam! You're lucky I don't have a gun!" Lisa huffed, clutching the phone to her chest after the shock wore off. When had she become so unaware of her surroundings not to have noticed him? The last time that had happened, was when she had tried talking herself out of falling in love with Chaeyoung. She had been just as distracted as she was now.
Bambam just snickered, came over swiftly and grabbed Lisa's phone right out of her hands with long and nimble fingers.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing??" Lisa jumped after him but Bambam was good at dodging her attempts at getting her phone back.
"Who's Diana?"
Lisa felt her face flush red and hot. "Nobody. Give it back Bam!"
Lisa's best friend just kept snickering and threw her the phone. He had already read the text Lisa had been sighing about.
"Looks like someone has a date. What does the Suit say about that?" He gleamed as he noticed Lisa grow even more agitated.
"It's not a date, it's... urgh... it's undercover work. Jennie and Jisoo were the very ones who set me up with this."
Bambam furrowed his brows. "You said you were heading to a funeral earlier... Diana.... " He was already putting two and two together faster than Lisa would have liked. "Diana Flipo was almost kidnapped this morning. Right off the street from her late husbands funeral. Diana isn't by any chance Diana Flipo???"
"Classified." Lisa growled at her friend who's eyebrows were already dancing.
"Classified, my ass! You have a date with Diana Flipo"
