In the deepest shadow of the night, Haein's team had managed to move Jennie out of her apartment unseen. To the world and most importantly to Choi Min Soo she was supposed to be dead. Lights out. No more.During the car ride Jennie's head was spinning. Why did this crook want her dead? Apart from her being an FBI agent and investigating him. There had to be more to this, right? She had to have been onto something he didn't want her to find.
To Haein's worried questions wether she was ok, Jennie hardly gave him an answer. Just a short nod that made her team member instantly avert his eyes again. They weren't as close as her and Jisoo after all.
The other thing that had Jennie completely rattled, was finding Lisa Manoban standing over her in her bedroom with a gun. For a second there, Jennie had actually feared for her life. But then Lisa had looked just as shell-shocked and she had lowered the gun immediately. Jennie knew that Lisa wasn't a killer but an hour ago it had sure looked like it.
Jennie had felt fear, betrayal and also something that she could only describe as a sharp sting somewhere in her chest. Not physical pain, but emotional one. Why was that? Before she could wrap her head around it, Haein made a left turn that confused Jennie.
"Where are we going? The bureau is down east." Her tone tired but nevertheless sharp.
"Safehouse." Haein replied calmly. "Jisoo's orders."
"I don't want to go to a safehouse! I need to be where you guys are. I don't like to be kept out of the loop, you know that Jung!" Jennie almost barked with panic in her voice. She was almost killed tonight. If they hadn't intercepted Miss Black and put Lisa in her place, Jennie would have been definitely killed tonight and that didn't make her feel particulartly safe in a so called 'safehouse'.
"But Jisoo said-"
"No! I want to stay at the bureau! No discussion!"
Haein briefly met his surperior's eyes in the rearview mirror and caved. "Fine. But you'll handle Jisoo and Gong Yoo."
"I will. Thanks."
And he made a u-turn.

When Jennie and the male agent walked through the bureau doors, she could already see Lisa conversing with Jisoo in Jennie's office. Both of them stared at her when she entered.
"You were supposed to be at a safehouse!" Jisoo instantly protested with worried eyes, taking in her friend. Jennie was still in her black silky pyjamas, she didn't really have time to get dressed. They were short pyjamas so Jennie's legs were on display and the agent felt Lisa's eyes burning into her from behind Jisoo. She felt weirdly exposed suddenly.
"I'm not going to a safehouse Chu. I don't feel safe at a safehouse. I feel safe here."
"But Gong Yoo will never go for that."
"Jisoo!" Jennie pleaded exhaustedly. "I was almost killed tonight."
That shut Jennie's best friend up and she stepped closer. "You're right. Stay here." She wrapped her arms around Jennie's tiny frame and pulled her into a tight hug. "I'm so glad you're ok."
"Yeah..." Jennie mumbled into Jisoo's shoulder and her eyes met Lisa's who still just stood there.
"I'm so sorry Jen." The CI whispered but stayed put where she was.
"You don't have to say sorry Lis. It's not you who wants me dead."
Lisa's eyes had never been this deep. This worried. This soft. And Jennie almost got a little lost until Jisoo pulled out of the hug and back into Jennie's vision, effectively blocking Lisa from sight.
