Name: Trevor MhlangaGIVE ME A PEN (Edited by Kudakwashe Chikosi)
You may give me pain
Give my body a strain
But don’t take away my power, my penYou may take to gain
Force me to change my lane
But don't touch my vehicle, my penTake all my coin and money
But not my sweet and cherished honey
My one and only, my penEven if it cost a pretty penny
I won't let go of my friend
For it is not one of many
It is a beginning and an end
It is my penGive me a pen for a lifeline
With which I write my punch-line
Put a pen in my pocket
And I will turn into an electric socket
Lifting off into the stars like a rocket
I hide my pen in a special locket
Far from the burglars eyeWith a pen in my hand, I am on fire
With a pen in my hand, I am live wire
I write, I scribble, and I just don’t tire
I don’t think about time to retire
My ink is my blood it contains my ire
My sorrow my truth my pain and desireDon’t be my misery and nightmare
Don’t steal my happiness' share
Don’t dim my light among men
Don’t take away my power, my pen
Keep your sword, I keep my pen
Give me my right
My word, my pen.
Give me my pen
