Written by Trevor Mhlanga (Edited by Kudakwashe Nhlanhla Chikosi)
If you could you would
But you are chained
Tied so tight by what should
And what must be attained
If you could you would
But you refrained
Coiled by what could
Forgetting what can be regained
It's not like you won't but you can't
It's not like you have no choice
But you just can't
You have to take that choice
It's the prevailing situation
It's the conditions on the ground
Which have come without invitation
And are here to stick around
You are grounded by them
Forgoing your longings and desires
Staying hidden behind them
But it's not what your heart desires
For freedom, you have lost
Your anger is seething
But hope you host
Faith you kindle within
