It is inspiration to keep on fighting
Encouragement to keep on believing
Zeal to keep on writing
Hope to keep on going
Resolve to keep on battling
Willpower to keep on learning
Knowledge to keep on scribing
Wisdom to keep on listening
It is the outcry of the oppressed
The voice of the unheard
The uplifting of the uncelebrated
The stronghold of the discouraged
It feeds the inner man and clothes the soul
In this world of the unfair and the openly foul
It dares not throw the towel
Touching yet another soul
You may call it word sculpture
Built from a spiritual rapture
Brought to life by pain and laughter
Held by promises of the forever after
