☾"We should go to Walmart," I suggested as I pulled the seatbelt back on. I knew how Mason felt about seatbelts so I hadn't even argued about it anymore.
"Why is that?" He wondered glancing at me, his blue eyes trailing up and down my body probably checking to see if I wore my seatbelt.
"Because I want to buy shit I don't know," I shrugged. "I just like Walmart okay?"
He chuckled at the defensive tone of my voice shaking his head, "Yeah we can go."
"Why even argue then? Hm? Riddle me that ancient dick." I hadn't been serious and I grinned just to make sure he knew but from the matching expression plastered across his cheeks, I could tell he had figured I wasn't.
The closest Walmart had been a whole two minutes down the road and we pulled into a parking spot. It startled me how quickly Mason hurried of the door basically running around the car to my side, he was almost to my car door when his feet slipped and he fell backward onto his ass with a loud thump. My jaw dropped as I opened my door to join him on the icy pavement, my feet slid but I held onto the door so I wouldn't fall.
"Are you okay?" I asked in worry despite the smile I had to force down. I wanted so badly to laugh but I kept it in.
Mason sat of the cold melty ground with his eyes closed and muttered, "ow," beneath his breath. The urge to smile left my body when I heard that little voice in pain. I took slow careful steps toward him, shutting the door before. I ruffled his already messy black hair then held out my hand. He smiled sheepishly and grasped onto my hand allowing me to pull his big ass up.
I groaned, "you're so heavy, Jesus Christ." He just laughed in response and I weaved my arm through his so I could wrap it protectively around his lower back holding him close so he wouldn't fall again. "Can't be having you break a hip."
He wrapped an arm around my shoulders leaning into me, pressing his cheek to the top of my head. Then he nuzzled his face into my hair and mumbled, "so soft."
This seemed very overwhelmingly boyfriend like but I let it happen since he was warm and had just gotten hurt. "That reminds me. I need to buy some hair dye here," I said. "I knew there was something I has to get but I couldn't remember until now."
"Okay," He mumbled still with his face in my hair. "I can buy it."
"Why would you buy it? It's my hair dye."
"Because I want to Ash," He chuckled. "Can I do things without being questioned excessively?"
"No, you can't," I scoffed playfully with a smile. When we reached the glass doors I let go of his waist but he kept his arm over my shoulders. I tried to shrug him off but that just made him move behind me and hug my shoulder with both arms as I walked through the store. His chin was placed atop my head and I rolled my eyes. "You're so annoying."
"I don't want to break my hip," He taunted and I had to laugh since I hadn't thought he noticed that jab earlier.
"I've never had such a clingy friend before," I stated.
"Get used to it."
As we walked back people were starting to stare curiously, most likely speculating about our relationship. Or just wondering how trash like me was getting hugged by this very wonderful man. I wondered the same thing.
