Leyland Adventures Chapter Thirteen: Part Thirty

She arrived in a black space, devoid of light. Nothing existed in this area. Out of the darkness, Glace came walking out with her arm stretched out. She yawned before speaking.

"Ah, that was a lovely nap. I see my clones haven't taken take care of you."

She paid extra attention to the words 'nap' and 'clones'. Coming to an uncomfortable realization. Glace had been napping in an isolated world while her copies dealt with Fayemi. Now fully rested, she was more than ready to continue the fight.

A mirror stood by Glace's side, and a copy of Aradressa came into sight. It was a near perfect copy, just without her sword and shield.

"I'll save my energy for your friend, but I'm sure Aradressa will be a worthy opponent for you." As her lips formed the final word, Aradressa held a fireball above a single finger.

In this moment, she thought about how Aradressa advised her to not fight Glace, and yet here she was. Fighting her best friend in a reality far from an ordinary one. Though now wasn't the time to think about such things.

Aradressa launched the projectile, which missed the target. Fayemi crafted a shield to block her quick blows. Each strike felt more powerful than the last, leading to Fayemi pushing her back.

Aradressa promptly flew back to her, locking hands as they fought for control. Their tight grasp on each other seemed equal, though Aradressa began to overpower her. Fayemi reached deep inside herself to find the strength to combat this clone, despite being physically weaker.

Aradressa swung her forehead towards her face and broke the connection. She continued the violence, knocking Fayemi to the ground. She held her down as Glace slowly walked towards her. The sound of her footsteps kissing the floor made her more desperate to escape.

More duplicates of Aradressa were created to ensure she couldn't slip away. Her arms and legs were restricted. Under normal circumstances, she would be able to free herself, but so much of her energy had been utilized.

Glace eyed her down. She continued to squirm, not even in grave moments like this would she ever admit defeat.

"This was fun, Fayemi. I hope the old guy will give me an even more exhilarating time."

Not even her rapid wings could save her from this fate. Glass spread throughout her body, stopping any further movement. There was no more noise. The princesses had fulfilled their duty, and thus vanished. Only Alfred remained; their last hope.

Returning to the land of opposite colors, Fayemi's body was sent through a mirror, stealing Alfred's attention. A tsunami of turmoil drowned him as he recognized her right away. His heart stopped for a second which felt like an eternity. He was stunned, speechless even.

While he was preoccupied with her, Glace was able to enter the world without being noticed. Before he knew it, Glace had used Embodiment on him, gaining a vital ability.

"Discogince."

His body dropped to the ground due to the unbearable pain in his head. His loud groans drew Glace closer to him.

"Just stay right there, you'll be able to join her soon."

His body was forced to move so he could face her. He laid defensively on the grass, still groaning. Glace extended her arm to transform his body into glass, but received an unexpected action from him. He grabbed her hand firmly, making eye contact with her. She stood confused, unsure on how she should react.

"P- possession."

His eyes emitted a blue glow, reflected in Glace's eyes as well. Now, his soul was in her body.

The two fought for control in her body, causing her to make unpredictable movements.

"This is an invasion of my body, leave now."

"I'll only need to borrow it for a moment."

He created a mirror, only to shatter it and picked up a shard. The sharp tip was held dangerously close to her neck; one quick slash across her flesh could end it all.

"I'll make this simple, take us back to your domain and cure my allies of their condition. I don't believe I have to subdue you more than necessary." Even with his threat, humility was still present.

"Ah, I wish this didn't have to end so early. Victory was at the tip of my finger."

"Yes, it's a tragedy, but you possess too much power. I couldn't run the risk of fighting you. Now if you would just yield peacefully."

Out of options, she had no other choice than to submit. He returned to his own body and waited for Glace to hold up her side of the deal. The sky cracked like glass, breaking down the world she had built. Each mirror created ceased to exist, thus returning them to the real world.

It was unexplainable, but Alfred's muscles relaxed and his eyes were wide open. He took in the fresh air and absorbed the sun's warming rays. Surprising himself, he felt at ease. But now wasn't the time to appreciate nature, other business had to be taken care of.

He picked up Fayemi and walked into the mirror with Glace.

The mirror led them back to her domain, which was just as silent as he remembered. Finally, his partners are safe.

With a touch of her finger, their status as glass trophies was lifted. Upon being freed, Tysashi rushed to Fayemi's aid, though she helped herself up just fine.

Alfred quizzed them on their well-being. Tysashi was fine, while Fayemi gave a response that's expected of her.

"My bod hurts, but I'll tough it out. You really came through for us, Alfie. I knew someone as old as you would still has some use!" She ruffled his silvery hair as if he was still young.

He frequently opposed her displays of affection, but this was different. This time, it was allowed.

"Tysashi." Glace called.

He stepped forward, though a bit apprehensive due to her incredible power. She drew his hand out and set the Mirror Gemstone on it. The oval-shaped, glistening gem fueled him with triumph. But at the same time, he didn't feel as if he truly deserved it. He stared at his own reflection in the gem, questioning himself.

Of course, his odd behavior was picked up but the others. For now, he ignored those thoughts and fully accepted his reward.

"Hey Tysashi, let's get a celebration meal! All that fighting has me in the mood for some grub!"

"Umm...sure. Alfred, are you coming?"

"I must decline, sadly. I've been through quite enough today, and I need to inform the queen about today's events. Continue spending time with Fayemi, if you please."

"Understood."

Hearing the requests of everyone, Glace summoned two mirrors. One led to the castle, while the other presented a view of a woman in the Kula Outlet.

"Is that...it is!" Fayemi had never been so excited to enter a mirror, dashing in like an ecstatic child.

Tysashi went after her, intrigued by whoever she saw through the mirror.
